Eagles hit new low
Jeff McLane, Inquirer Staff Writer
The Eagles didn’t have turnovers to blame, although they did have one.
They didn’t have penalties as an excuse, although the Eagles did finish with nine, a number of which were untimely.
There was no fourth quarter lead for the Eagles defense to choke up this time around. The only choking going on at Lincoln Financial Field that late was the stadium walkways overcrowded with fleeing Eagles fans that had to sit through another home defeat.
The Eagles could blame a number of unfortunate injuries to key players. But that would be overlooking the fact that they were healthy for the first half of the season, and that their opponent was decimated on defense.
No, blame for Sunday’s ghastly 38-20 loss to the New England Patriots falls on the shoulders of the Eagles’ coaches, players and front office. It was a team loss, as they say. And this team, despite the promise, the hype and the individual talent, is as dead as Thanksgiving turkey.
DeSean Jackson-----new name in the off-season will be YerGone Jackson-----you, Andy Reid, and that useless coaching staff of his will all be Eagle history. TEDcGEGI
Gruden coached up the raiders from nothing to the AFC championship--and was one 'tuck-rule' away from taking that team to the SB. knew enough to take an also-ran tampa team over the top. Sounds good enough to me for a change BirdofPray
I'm sorry I don't get the venom directed at Banner. He manages the cap, right? In my opnion he does a good job. It's the drafting and game planning and play calling that sucks. And the linebackers. bilmarz
Now Now philly fan's you can't buy a winner look at the Heat
you are now in thier category. fire the players not the coach nc state
All I can say, I know the feeling all so well. Everyone who is anyone has dumped on us. However Tbe Cowboys have deserved what they got. Who knows what is wrong with eagles nobody was expecting it. Take solace that you still beat the Cowboys at least once. Maybe we can repay the favor.
Well nothing to say but good luck with what's left. It's not over till it's over. Dallassince62
Hopefully most of you will finally figure out what us smart football fans knew a couple years ago: Reid is done.
I can't believe 108 (so far) voted to bring him back. We need to keep Giant/Cowboy/Skin fans off this board. Phils_World_Champs- Our team is the best flag football EVER
Dog-torturer karma coming home to roost !! techdiver
Hope the owner gets the message...real soon! phillyfan19335
Fire Banner too. His hands are not clean. SuperJ
Phils world< i read it like "do you think he'll be back?", not "do you want him back". I have not wanted him back since the end of 2005 season, but he just keeps coming back. And I think the excuses are built in for him to come back for one more year ,and then if he makes the playoffs next year, well, coach for life. Eephus
WE Sucked... Play on the field reflects poorly throughout the ranks... Andy needs to take charge of this team... We don't seem to know when to Run or when to Pass... Brady makes many defenses look bad we looked worse... The #1 runner in the league... Shady Game changer MCCoy on the sideline underutilized ... Dissension in the ranks...Andy looked flushed in the Post Game news conference... That... was most worrisome... Sheewww Disappointing... I don't know if we are mathematically eliminated yet... Ain't over till it's over. Go Eagles. trinieagle
I wish the Patriots that showed up against Philly had showed up against the Giants the last time out. Then by now, maybe all the Manning Boosters among the Press and TV pundits would realized what a sub-par N.F.L player he really is. Now if Brees and gang show up tonight , and not some bunch of pretenders, then Ol' Homely will make the N.F.L. brass sit up and investigate the case of him coming to the Giants in the first place when he was drafted by the Chargers and his old Man Archie got him off.
Coughlin has no one to blame buy himself if he's gone this year. That misfit Manning is still making the same mistakes he did when he first showed up. Rush him and he'll throw it up for grabs , or throw it backhand with his left hand . If Rivers had the Protection over the years that Manning had and has , he'd have led the Chargers to the Super Bowl every year.
And if the Eagles are smart, they'll let Vick stay on the Bench for the rest of the year. The League has caught up to him and his fancy dance steps . All the way back to Fran Tarkington , Coaches have said, you can't win in this League with a running Quarterback without a brain . And Vick is the Personification of that remark.

With Washburn and Marty fighting on the sideline, SheSean 'Short Arms" Jackson packing it in, Vick too small and fragile QB, the absolute worst back 7 in the NFL, numb skull play calling, lack of tackling except for Colt Anderson, and the punt and kick-off coverage, a burned out head coach, a total moron GM gopher, lack of discipline, stupid players, and worse, some very soft players, mis-matched corners and absolutely terrible safeties who can't cover or tackle and finally not one NFL LB..it is TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE ! ! PS. Forgot about other teams 4th WR playing safety and embarrassing our corners. oldBird
Enough with the pleas to hire Gruden. I'd rather have Reid than Gruden. Take away Reid's GM role and hire a new DC. Howie Roseman needs to be fired. Wish we still had Modrak as our GM.
I'd only fire Reid if there's a real superstar head coach out there, or a highly-regarded coordinator. It wouldn't be wise to just fire Reid without someone better lined up. p-diddy
