Eagles hit new low
Jeff McLane, Inquirer Staff Writer
The Eagles didn’t have turnovers to blame, although they did have one.
They didn’t have penalties as an excuse, although the Eagles did finish with nine, a number of which were untimely.
There was no fourth quarter lead for the Eagles defense to choke up this time around. The only choking going on at Lincoln Financial Field that late was the stadium walkways overcrowded with fleeing Eagles fans that had to sit through another home defeat.
The Eagles could blame a number of unfortunate injuries to key players. But that would be overlooking the fact that they were healthy for the first half of the season, and that their opponent was decimated on defense.
No, blame for Sunday’s ghastly 38-20 loss to the New England Patriots falls on the shoulders of the Eagles’ coaches, players and front office. It was a team loss, as they say. And this team, despite the promise, the hype and the individual talent, is as dead as Thanksgiving turkey.

Deader than Thanksgiving Turkey. Are you supposed to kill the dahl-garn bird first before you eat it? rockinrob
Gold standard. Enough said. At least they'll draft well. Oh, wait... rubicon24
Reid's smarter than all of you put together. Just thought you'd like to hear that. Sam Crow- Smart doesn't mean capable.

Jets game is going to be scary. Better ban beer sales in the stadium or live with the consequences. Joe Lis lives
Jackson was awful...this was his game to shine and he was ducking at key moments. ziggy
Good lord this team is soft. The Eagles front office (including the GM Andy Reid) deserve most of the blame. The Eagles need to get back to high character, tough players. I really think the Eagles have lost that element, and it shows. There's a lot of talent on this team that you want to hold on to. I'd start the process by releasing Rogers-Cromartie right now. Send a message. Fire Reid and Castillo immediately after the last game of the season. A guy like Desean Jackson is a distraction on a team without leaders. He needs a Troy Vincent, Dawkins or Runyan to tell him to STFU. p-diddy
it has to be a complete house cleaning from Banner on down. Job 2 is to hire a GM/VP Player Personnel who knows something about player personnel. No more accountants running the draft. This season is a disgrace. Andy and the accountants have left a crater where there used to be a talented football team. I have two words to sum up this debacle: Juan Castillo. coloradoeagle- Looks like you've been reading the Tonner's work. The accounting firm of Banner, Roseman and Reid have ruined this team by drafting fastballs, linebackers to play defensive line and defensive linemen to play linebacker. Andy got schooled by his daddy tonight, the guy he tries to outsmart but never does. Bellicheat even had his WR make a tackle on defense just to drive the point home. Time to move on from this regime. Whether you like it or whether you don't like it, you better learn to love it because it's the truth according to the Tonner.
Ummmm let me guess. "I need to do a better job. I take full responsibilty for the loss. I have to do a better job of putting players in position to make plays. Time's yours". Did I forget anything??? Beefcake2358
