The Eagles officially signed defensive tackle Derek Landri today and place Antonio Dixon on the injured reserve, as expected.

Landri was with the team through training camp and had some strong moments in the preseason but could not win a job. While he replaces Dixon on the roster, at 6-foot-2 and 290 pounds, he doesn't match the run-stopping bulk provided by Dixon (6-3, 322).

Dixon tore his triceps against the 49ers.

Landri is entering his fifth season after playing with Jacksonville and Carolina. He started all 16 games for the Panthers last year and had 43 tackles and three sacks.

He will wear jersey number 94.
