Eagles escape Friday's victory healthy

POSTED: Saturday, August 25, 2012, 12:23 AM

CLEVELAND -- The injuries were light for the Eagles in Friday's 27-10. Reserve wide receiver Brian Hernandez suffered an ankle sprain, but besides that, the Eagles came out of the game clean. That is far more encouraging than last week, when they lost Michael Vick.

Safety O.J. Atogwe was a gametime decision. He participated in pre-game warm-ups but did not feel healthy enough to play. Atgowe is suffering from a hamstring injury.

-- Ten players on the Eagles’ 90-man roster were not in uniform on Friday: quarterbacks Mike Kafka andVick; safeties Colt Anderson and Tom Nelson; offensive linemen Todd Herremans and Jason Peters; defensive linemen Jason Babin and Mike Patterson; and wide receiver Riley Cooper.

-- Cullen Jenkins started at left defensive end in Babin’s place, and Fletcher Cox took Jenkins’ spot at defensive tackle. Dennis Kelly lined up at right tackle with Herremans attending a funeral. Chas Henry took the first punt after Mat McBriar was the top punter last week. King Dunlap and Demetress Bell rotated snaps at left tackle.

-- The Eagles are off on Saturday. They will have a 10/10/10 practice on Sunday morning before Flight Night on Sunday night.

"We have Flight Night coming up on Sunday, which will be a real nice event for the fans doing a little razzle dazzle," Reid said.

I really like the rookie out of Syracuse, Philip Thomas. He is always around the ball and he is a hitter. Is he perhaps our answer to the safety woes?

Shaking head! NFL offensive line coach made NFL Defensive Head Coach. That is going to injure people. Reid/Eagles were is the plan. High School or College Head coach would be a promotion for a NFL Offensive Line Coach. Have you ever seen this move for a potential SB team?
