The Eagles continued tapping the Chip Kelly pipeline by acquiring wide receiver Jeff Maehl from the Houston Texans on Monday, trading reserve offensive lineman Nate Menkin.

Maehl played for Kelly at Oregon, where he starred for the Ducks. In his senior season, he finished with 77 catches for 1,076 yards and 12 touchdowns.

He played three games for the Texans in 2011, but didn't record a catch. Maehl spent all of last season the practice squad. He's listed at 6-feet, 185 pounds, and is 24 years old.

Which do you feel more strongly about the Eagles after their first preseason game?

Maehl joins a wide receiving corps that has been hit hard by injuries, and there is competition for roster spots beyond the top four players.

Menkin was claimed off waivers from the Texans last season, but never played in a game for the Eagles. He was inactive for much of the season before being placed on injured reserve with a throat cartilage tear in December.
