The Eagles have traded out of the third round, sending the 91st overall pick to the Seattle Seahawks, continuing a chain of events that started with them dealing the 85th overall pick to the New York Giants earlier this morning.

In exchange for the 85th pick, they received the Giants' third-round pick -- 91st overall -- and a fifth-round selection, the 164th overall pick. The Seahawks gave the Eagles the first pick in the fifth round -- 137 overall -- and a seventh-round selection -- 213 overall -- in this year's draft and a third-round selection in next year's draft.

The Eagles now have six fifth-round picks in this year's draft. They do not have a fourth-round selection.

Don't be surprised if they use their extra third-round pick in next year's draft to make a trade with Denver for tight end Tony Scheffler. The teams have talked about a deal and the Eagles told the Broncos they would be interested depending on what they do in this draft.

The Giants used the 85th pick on Ramses Barrden, a wide receiver from Cal-Poly, and Seattle used the 91st pick to get Penn State wide receiver Deon Butler.

Why allow the Giants to get who they want???? If Barden catches a TD to win a game against the Eagles... otherwise, with Maclin/McCoy - the rest is gravy

so they trade out of 85 and then jared cook gets taken right before the 91st pick so they move out of there. Why didn't they just sit at 85 and take Cook?

Huge mistake. They should have taken Jared Cook, but got greedy and thought Cook would still be there at 91. Instead, Tennessee moves up to 89 to grab Cook. Who is Cook? TE for South Carolina with great speed, hands, height, ability to get open. He didn't have great numbers because South Carolina's quarterbacks have been abysmal the last few years. He wasn't called upon to block much because of SC's offensive scheme, but when he did block he was willing and could be coached up. What a shame.

It can't be that they are being cheap third rounders are chump change...curious behavior though maybe they just don't like the value in this spot

celek can get open, catch and get YAC. They need a blocker, thats why they passed on cook. betweem maclin, desean, and curtis there is some serious speed on this offense.

Seems like the Giants are determined to replace Plax. Apparently Manning can't throw to anyone under 6'5".

My fault-- NFL.com has it correctly with Buffalo. I'm sure we'll use some fifth rounders to get back into the fourth

We now have 6 5th rounders...and don't forget we got a 3rd rounder in next years draft...plenty of trade bait (along with Sheldon Brown) to get a vet or 2. Still some decent value CB's on the board (and probably will be in the 5th round).

cook is a combine creation. (unfortunately) watched every south carolina game last year and he was benched two/three times for being a loafer and low-effort guy. also a terrible blocker with so-so hands. scheffler has fantastic hands and was a good red-zone threat for denver, when healthy.
