Does Vick now own a dog? He's not saying
Jeff McLane, Inquirer Staff Writer

Michael Vick declined to answer whether he owned a dog after he tweeted a photograph of him and his daughter at home Thursday night that included a box of Milk-bone dog biscuits.
“I’m here to strictly talk about football,” Vick said Wednesday at the NovaCare Complex. “What goes on in my personal life is not to be talked about. What’s most important right now is the Philadelphia Eagles and getting the win Sunday.”
The 3-2 Eagles host the 1-3 Lions at Lincoln Financial Field.
In the picture, captured by the sports blog Crossing Broad, Vick is looking at his Eagles playbook on his IPad while his daughter is working at the same table. To the right is the box, apparently opened. The tweet was later deleted and another similar photo was sent, this time without the box in the picture.
Vick is permitted to own a dog and has spoken openly in the past about wanted to obtain one for his family, especially his two daughters. Recently, he was asked by CNN’s Piers Morgan if he ever wanted to own a dog again.
“Maybe so,” Vicks said in July. “Being honest. Being candid. … I still deal with my kids each and every day, and for the last 3 years, not being able to have a dog because of my acts. ... I just don’t think that’s fair.
“It may be something that’s therapeutic in that for them and I can’t take that dream away from them. That’s selfish on my behalf.”
Asked what kind of dog he would prefer to own, Vick told Morgan that he would allow his children to choose, but that “it certainly won’t be a pit bull.”
The Eagles quarterback was unable to own a dog during a probationary period following his release from prison in May of 2009. Vick served 19 months in a federal prison for owning and operating a dogfighting ring. He remained under house arrest for an additional two months and ended his probation in July.
Why would anyone let this man near a dog, let alone own one? The authorities or even his parole officer needs to get the dog out of his immediate reach...now!! rhmurph- The same reason all meat eaters are allowed to have pets and feed them meat.... Ya ya ya.. I get the point.. but the real reason is, why would you want to punish his kids when Vick is the one who's done the crime... Its not fair to his kids... a lot of kids love dogs.. I would just have couple of ASPCA officers check on the dog every week.. I don't have a problem with his small kids owning a small lap dog.. I wish it was a rescued one though.. especially the handicapped/needy ones.. which reminds him of the effects of abuse and make him help them more in present and future.... arvind
- you're an idiot!
pbnewcomer267 - The Tonner is longing for the day when he doesn't have to read about Mr. Vick anymore.
- Maybe because he's completed his sentence and is no longer on parole, genius?

When his daughter asked for a dog maybe someone should have sat her down and told her she can't have one because her Daddy enjoyed torturing and killing dogs. Scope33- You really think he didn't have the talk with his kids.. Its in media almost every day.. I am sure his daughters get confronted about it in school about it and get bullied about it to.. You really really think its okay for his daughters to get punished for their dad's fault.. Would you want any punishment for your kids if you did something wrong? arvind
- were you there to see the smile on his face?

Please people let it go he made a mistake paid for his mistakes and is moving on with his life!!! I serve a God of a second chance and since none of you are God and cant judge him please just let it go!!! dakee- If Jerry Sandusky claims he made a mistake, found God and is rehabilitated and wants a second chance to be around children will you feel the same way? Because while their individual crimes may have been different, they as people are pretty similar: sociopathic, unrehab-able, sadistic MONSTERS who engaged in depraved acts for long enough that their acts cannot be described as "mistakes" but rather habits of chronically sick, depraved individuals who must be permanently removed from society.
hayward giablommi - Actually this is a terrible analogy for so many reasons...lets start with the obvious. Sandusky will die in jail, Vick served the punishment as sentence by law. Next obvious reason...heard of Megan's Law?
Mottz - next obvious he wasnt charged with beastiality
ALB328 - Question....what do you think of deer hunters, boar hunters, chicken or pig farms? You eat these products? Don't be so much of a finger pointer when you are too engaging as an accomplice in some activities that are equally appalling.
