DeSean vomits; practice notes

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Eagles full squad took part in its first day of two-a-day practices and while the pads won't come out until tomorrow there were a few highlights from the afternoon session.

But first a lowlight: The heat and humidity got to DeSean Jackson, who vomitted a few times during practice. Daily News photographer Yong Kim caught the wide receiver's moment of sickness. There's a good chance it makes the paper.

"We ran a lot. The heat," Jackson said after practice. "Gave it up a little bit but it's part of training camp."

And now the highlights:

-- The Eagles didn't have many full team drills in the afternoon, but during one set of 11 on 11s in which the nickel defense was going against a three-wide receiver set, the lineup consisted of DeMeco Ryans and Brian Rolle at linebacker, Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie at the outside cornerback spots and Joselio Hanson in the slot.

-- The first two defensive line units look like this: 1. Trent Cole and Jason Babin at end and Cullen Jenkins and Derek Landri at tackle. 2. Brandon Graham and Darryl Tapp and end and Antonio Dixon and Fletcher Cox at tackle.

-- Dallas Reynolds has been at center with the second team. The Eagles don't have a backup center, per se, after they released Jamaal Jackson in the offseason. They don't have to cover two centers on the 53-man roster, but they will need an offensive linemen that can jump in and snap the football in case Jason Kelce gets hurt. Best guess here is that a guard like Julian Vandervelde, who should make the final roster, will be the in-case-of-emergency backup center.

-- Much has been written about Clay Harbor and his chances at winning the backup tight end spot. He had a shaky spring catching the football, but Harbor has been sure-handed thus far at camp. He's getting more first team reps with Brent Celek sidelined with an ankle sprain.

-- Trent Edwards is behind Mike Kafka and rookie Nick Foles on the quarterback depth chart. He got only one play under center during 11 on 11s.
