DeSean Jackson will sign the Eagles' franchise tag tender very soon, perhaps sometime over the next few days, according to NFL sources.

Jackson's signing of the one-year tender was widely expected, although the Pro Bowl wide receiver has made it no secret that he would prefer to ink a long-term deal.

The one-year figure for franchise tagged receivers is $9.515 million, which would be more than three times what Jackson made in his first four seasons in the NFL.

Once Jackson signs the tender he is no longer an unrestricted free agent, although the Eagles' tagging of the 25-year-old essentially took him off the market. Both the Eagles and Jackson have said that they wish to work a multi-year deal out before a July 16 deadline, although the sides remain far apart.

With Jackson in tow the Eagles are unlikely to do much in free agency at the wide receiver position. Free agency begins at 4 p.m. today.
