Danny Watkins misses practice, Dennis Kelly a possibility to start at right guard

Who will win Sunday's Eagles-Falcons game?
Eagles
Falcons

Danny Watkins missed Thursday's practice with a sprained ankle, and his status for Sunday is uncertain.

"I gave him a breather today and then I'm just going to see from [trainer Rick Burkholder] how he does," coach Andy Reid said. "If I have to give him a breather tomorrow, I'll give him a breather tomorrow, and then we'll see where we go from there."

Rookie Dennis Kelly filled in during Wednesday's practice and will start if Watkins cannot play.

"I'm good with Dennis," Reid said. "Tough kid, smart."

Kelly, a fifth-round pick, never played guard in college. He played a little guard in the preseason and has been learning on the job.

"I'm getting there," Kelly said. "Naturally, I've grown into being a tackle in the two-point stance. I'm getting used to the two-point stance, and i'm trying to get to the different speed of it. It happens a lot faster -- they're right on top of you. I guess you can say I'm pretty comfortable in both."

Torn rotator cuff from waving those linemen through like a matador or a third base coach the Tonner is guessing.

Oh good, another "High Motor" Kid who never played the position that he is now being thrust into...Just another fine example of Andy setting up someone to fail.

That's Andy. He fancies himself such a great coach that he can just " coach up" any one even if it were the neighborhood wino.

Just start another practice squad player, you won't notice a difference in play...
