Cheer or Boo McNabb?

Will you cheer or boo Donovan McNabb when he returns to Philly on Sunday?
Cheer
Boo

What kind of welcome will you extend to Donovan McNabb upon his return to Lincoln Financial Field as a Washington Redskin?

Will you give him a standing ovation and cheer?

Will you simply applaud the former Eagles quarterback for his 11 years of service?

Or will you jump up and boo the guy?

Or will you just sit on your hands?

Coach Andy Reid said that he had no idea what kind of reception McNabb will get Sunday when the Eagles host the Redskins.

"Listen, I don't know," Reid said Monday at his day-after-game news conference at the NovaCare Complex. "I don't know that. ... He is a Redskin and they don't get the best acceptance at the stadium there."

Someone asked if Reid would get emotional in seeing McNabb in a Redskins jersey at the Linc. (Note to out-of-town questioner: Reid doesn't do emotion).

"There is not time for that," Reid said. "I have a lot of things I need to take care of."

Reid may not be aware of the stadium atmosphere on game days, but he expects the Linc to be raucous.

"It will be a little crazy," Reid said. "It's always crazy when the NFC East teams come here, so I'm sure it will be a little crazier than ever. ... But I got the headset on, I'm focused on the game. But I know the louder the better, I do know that. That's why I welcome people. Our fans are a little crazy. We're probably on the A-list in the National Football League. I love that part of that. When they put all that green stuff on and dress crazy. I like that. I welcome the Redskins into that."

As for injuries, Reid said that guard Nick Cole still has swelling in his knee and will sit out Wednesday's practice. Reggie Wells, who jumped in for Cole Sunday, will practice with the first team and continue to get repetitions there as the week goes on, Reid said.

Also, tight end Brent Celek has a wrist contusion and defensive end Brandon Graham sprained his ankle. Both injuries aren't considered serious.

McNabb was the best QB this team has ever had. I still cheer for him but boo the Redskins. He gave us the best 10 year run for this franchise. God bless you Donovan.

He's the enemy. You never cheer for the enemy. I might not boo, but I won't cheer either. I propose everyone just sit there and be quiet after he's introduced. Don't say or do a darned thing.
This will forever be my final comment on Saint Donnie, he's just not worth the effort anymore. Was he good, yes. Was he great, no. Could he win games, yes. Did he lose all but but one big game, yes. He was at the same time a superstar and a super underachiever. His flaws were many, namely trying not to perpetuate the running steroetype of the black quarterback. He failed miserably as a leader when lesser QBs succeeded at galvanizing their teammates and winning, too. He was a fake, so humble yet so full of himself. Always the second best in show, never a best of show blue ribbon winner. The Bobby Abreau of QBs....all stats and no championships.....great QBs rise to the occasion, make all those around them better and lead their teams to championships......oh yeah, they also know how to count to 120 as in seconds in a two minute drill......no wonder his Wonderlic score was so low......I am not oppressed.....Saint Donnie and his camp will tell you he is the one who is oppressed. Me, I think he's just a chronic wormkiller.

Cheer him before the whistle. Cheer him being flattened during the game.

McNabb deserves a standing O during the entire first series he's on the field. That would be something to remember and be talked about for the ages. A classy welcome back. Are you up to it, Philly? The guy threw 4 TDs on a broken ankle once upon a time. He pretty much carried the entire offense and deserves to be treated with the class and respect that he displayed through his run here. All you haters and boo birds would wet your pants if you stood in a pro football pocket.

I will be ashamed to be a Philadelphian if there is anything but a long standing ovation for Donovan

He deserves an applause and he'd get it from me if I were going. I understand that he constantly put his foot in his mouth (and continues do to so in DC) and never got over the top, but he was the best QB in team history and won a lot of games here. I'm sure there will be a mix of both boos and cheers, but I hope the majority goes for the latter.

Give him a brief ovation, then cheer ten times as loud for the Birds to beat the Hell out the Skins.

I'm happy to see all of the "Cheer" McNabb comments. Just because he wasn't able to get us a Superbowl doesn't mean he should be booed. He made the Eagles a contender instead of a doormatt.

Please cheer!! Agree with Philly Mike that the media will say we booed no matter what, but PLEASE don't play into their hands. The media has been and will be feeding the fire all week, and the game being at 4:00 is no coincidence. They want dirty laundry. Let's disappoint them.

I can't believe this is a topic of discussion. Philly fans know what Donovan did for this team and they will stand and cheer. He earned it.

From what I've read, and from the survey, I'm happy that the reaction to McNabb has been positive. As a fan (still) I hope he gets a huge, warm ovation.

No reason not to cheer #5. I wish I was going to be at the game too, because anyone who booed in my vacinity would get stolen. That man gave his heart to this team and the city, even when it did not show love back. Like a previous poster said he has gotten closer to the big game then every other eagles QB in history and has beaten all of their stats. Let's show some respect and cheer #5, then beat the Redskins!!! GO BIRDS!!!
