Cheer or Boo McNabb?

Will you cheer or boo Donovan McNabb when he returns to Philly on Sunday?
Cheer
Boo

What kind of welcome will you extend to Donovan McNabb upon his return to Lincoln Financial Field as a Washington Redskin?

Will you give him a standing ovation and cheer?

Will you simply applaud the former Eagles quarterback for his 11 years of service?

Or will you jump up and boo the guy?

Or will you just sit on your hands?

Coach Andy Reid said that he had no idea what kind of reception McNabb will get Sunday when the Eagles host the Redskins.

"Listen, I don't know," Reid said Monday at his day-after-game news conference at the NovaCare Complex. "I don't know that. ... He is a Redskin and they don't get the best acceptance at the stadium there."

Someone asked if Reid would get emotional in seeing McNabb in a Redskins jersey at the Linc. (Note to out-of-town questioner: Reid doesn't do emotion).

"There is not time for that," Reid said. "I have a lot of things I need to take care of."

Reid may not be aware of the stadium atmosphere on game days, but he expects the Linc to be raucous.

"It will be a little crazy," Reid said. "It's always crazy when the NFC East teams come here, so I'm sure it will be a little crazier than ever. ... But I got the headset on, I'm focused on the game. But I know the louder the better, I do know that. That's why I welcome people. Our fans are a little crazy. We're probably on the A-list in the National Football League. I love that part of that. When they put all that green stuff on and dress crazy. I like that. I welcome the Redskins into that."

As for injuries, Reid said that guard Nick Cole still has swelling in his knee and will sit out Wednesday's practice. Reggie Wells, who jumped in for Cole Sunday, will practice with the first team and continue to get repetitions there as the week goes on, Reid said.

Also, tight end Brent Celek has a wrist contusion and defensive end Brandon Graham sprained his ankle. Both injuries aren't considered serious.

I say show the national media that we are smart enough to respect people who have played well for us in the past: applaud McNabb. Once the game starts, applaud even louder when McNabb gets hammered, throws a spiral into the dirt, smiles to the camera on his mistakes, or plays the air guitar.

Of course we'll cheer him. Then once the game starts, its Boo City. He's a Deadskin after all! Why would an Eagles fan continue to cheer for the opposition? Also, wasn't this question asked before? What is Philly.Com trying to do? Recycle articles?

if you boo mcnabb, you're an idiot plain and simple. He was the best QB this franchise ever had and kept us more than competitive for the better part of 11 years. He was always respectful towards fans and media (which is more than we deserved at times) and never got arrested. He's not a hall of famer and unfortunately never won a SB but he was among the best we ever had on this team. Maybe when we miss the playoffs for the next couple years people will recognize mcnabb's contribution to the team
    eh whats the use

Cheer him loudly when he is introduced for his exceptional contribution to Eagles football, then cheer louder for the D to put him on his backside.

I just hope the same yahoo Dawkins fans who showed up in Denver Dawkins Jerseys, don't show up in Redskin McNabb jersey's.

Cheer him in the intro, then cheer for the Eagles. Pretty simple.

Definitely cheer the guy...what on earth did he do to not earn a standing O at the beginning at least? Anyone who boos him really needs to get a life. The guy played his heart out for a decade, took us regularly to the playoffs, and was an excellent citizen in a really tough city. I can not imagine what kind of idiot would boo that. Give him his due props at the beginning, do what we do normally during the game, and then give him his props on the way out. That is what normal people would do -- I just don't understand anyone who doesn't give him at least polite applause at the beginning. Would make no sense.

If i'm in the stands and some moron starts booing McNabb, i'm going to probably yell at the guy to shut up. I'm a McNabb fan, and was happy for everything he tried to do here, it is too bad the Eagles took so long to get him quality WRs.

He's a class citizen, a great father/family man, and never once been in any kind of trouble, and I mean real trouble and not trouble on the field. He represented Philly in a classy manner and took all of the fan's shortcomings in stride. Give the man a standing O during the announcements, and if he throws a td, boo.

Anyone who doesn't cheer for the best QB in franchise history is a moron.
