MCCOY VISITING EAGLES
Bob Brookover
A league source said today that Pitt running back LeSean McCoy will make a pre-draft visit with the Eagles.
McCoy, a star at Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, ran for 2,816 yards and 35 touchdowns in just two seasons with the Panthers. The 5-foot-11, 210-pound running back also proved to be a strong receiver coming out of the backfield with 65 career receptions for 549 yards.
Another league source said Chris "Beanie" Wells, the star running back from Ohio State, does not have a pre-draft visit scheduled in Philadelphia. The source said the Eagles did interview Wells at the scouting combine in Indianapolis. Wells finished his three-year career at Ohio State with 585 carries for 3,382 yards and 30 touchdowns.
Pre-draft visits do not always mean the Eagles intend to draft a player. There have been times when the Eagles have drafted a player in the first round even though that player did not visit the NovaCare Complex beforehand.
COLE SIGNS TENDER. Offensive lineman Nick Cole has signed the “mid-level” contract the team tendered him, ending his designation as a restricted free agent. Cole’s one-year deal will pay him $1.545 million in 2009.
another cheap find, mo of front office - look for diamonds in the rough, turn over every rock out there.......then drag your feet in negotiations and get them for bargain basenment prices.....the gang of 4 just really lining up their 3rd round draft choices ox

Perhaps, davekreig, you prefer the front office to go back to the days pre-Vermeil--when they would trade their draft picks for old has beens; when Vermeil got to Philly, the highest draft pick he had prior to his 4th season, was a 3rd rounder in 1978--even though Bill Bergey was anoutstanding pick-up, I don't think he was worth 2 1st rounders and a 2nd; or maybe you prefer the Norman Braman front office--where players left while they still had something left in the tank--while this FO has let icons go--more often than not, those icons had faded with their new teams--Vincent, Taylor, Douglas, Trotter--even the first time Trotter left, he wasn't the same player in Washington. bobbyuk
Draft Moreno and the best OL out there. Its that simple!!! Trade up in second if you can and draft Kenny Britt... fman727

Does anybody else see the 1 year contract trend? The Eagles are preparing for an uncapped year and the ability to blow up the team next year. Now is the time to not purchase any season tickets. Hit them in the pockets and they will fold. Since the whole nation is in a recession they can't bring up that relocation bit because no city will finance them to play there. Time for the fans to strike and rebel against an organization that owes the city money, increases tickets prices, lays off minimum wage workers, doesn't bring in difference makers on offense, and throws hall of fame players off the team without any communication. Do you really think that the eagles will actually do something with 12 picks and 2 (1st) round picks? Come on now. They will sit on their butts hoping to low ball some team and draft a OT and a DT then use their middle picks to pick up a back up RB from a bad team. You know this is true. The Eagles are like that old veteran on the job that won't give it up because it's so easy and pays well. The Eagles are extremely complacent. As long as they get paid from ticket sales they will never do what it takes to field a great team and EVERYBODY KNOWS THIS! Nothing but the truth

Davekrieg I do think you are a lil TOO pessimistic, but all do respect you do kinda have a reason to be lol. And he is right...we are one of the better front offices because we have so many Super Bowl trophies...oh wait that was in 1960 when the Lombardi Trophy wasn't even created. wake up. Aint that much being a hardcore eagles fan in the world when your front office is sh**ty. Keep it real. You know what...they aren't even crappy. They are just solid. They don't have "it" ads254

Looks like a replacement for BWest in the Pitt guy for sure. Good call. Still, the team needs more and the draft should be fun to watch. psuwelsh
I'm from Harrisburg and I personally know Lesean. He's a GREAT kid and by far the best running back that I've ever saw. He has talents that most running backs just don't have! I hope that the Eagles draft him- he's AMAZING! Steelton1
