Brian Dawkins set to join ESPN
Zach Berman, Inquirer Staff Writer
Former Eagles Pro Bowl safety Brian Dawkins will join ESPN as an NFL analyst, the network will officially announce Wednesday. Dawkins, a nine-time Pro Bowler who was a fan favorite with the Eagles, will appear on studio programs throughout the year such as SportsCenter, NFL Live, Audibles and NFL32. He makes his debut on Sept. 13 at 7 p.m., when he will appear alongside former NFL standouts Jerry Rice, Keyshawn Johnson and Marcellus Wiley on Audibles.
Dawkins spent 13 years in Philadelphia and played in 18 playoff games, the most in team history. His No. 20 jersey will be retired on Sept. 30 against the Giants, making Dawkins the eighth player in franchise history to receive that honor.
Dawkins will take the place of former teammate Hugh Douglas, who is moving from NFL analyst for ESPN to become a permanent co-host of ESPN2's Numbers Never Lie.

Dawk could talk the fuzz off a peach, so it's definitely a win for football fans. Jerome99RIP

Hope they don't expect him to cover the Patriots. ahab
Lurie should of made him am offer he could not refuse to return to the sidelines. Earl J
I guess ESPN don't want old #5 either. He's going to wind up as an analyst for Syracuse basketball games. watsonmr
And he is also signed to call in to 97.5 The Fanatic, as is Brian Westbrook. Jeremiah Trotter does pregame on air as well as guest spots. WIP is just so old and boring. Welcome back Dawk!! rjw817
Congrats Dawk! TarHeel Eagle
Get some face time on TV to help HOF candicy down the line. tommy_the_k
I know that coaching at a high level requires a certain skill set, but Mr Dawkin's always struck me as the kind of guy you'd want on your sidelines, helping out the young defensive guys. I think he'd have success as a position coach. One can hope. Gotta be better than being a talking head on TV, although I'm looking forward to seeing him. eaglefaninAZ
ahab...nice one. tpizza- BDawk is Philly. Good move by ESPN. Lots of former Eagles players on ESPN. Gotta love it.
