BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Hank Baskett hyper-extended his right knee today at Eagles practice. That's all, folks. After practice, Baskett walked to his car with his knee heavily bandaged. Asked if he was OK, Baskett responded, "Yeah, I'm good."

So let's all just calm down before we start jumping off cliffs, and writing/blogging/tweeting about his injury before we really know the extent of his injury.

In other injury news, Kevin Kolb sat out today's practice, but the backup quarterback said that he should be back soon. Kolb strained the MCL in his right knee yesterday.

"I feel real good," Kolb said. "Couple of days I'll be ready to rock."

Kolb isn't going to play in Thursday's preseason opener against the Patriots. The Eagles have him listed as day-to-day. The newly-acquired Matt Nagy suited up as the third-string quarterback today and had some nice throws. He also has a nice story to tell. We'll relay it to you in tomorrow's paper.

One note: Former Eagles coach Dick Vermeil was at camp today. And, no, he didn't cry about all the Eagles injuries.

Back with more.

UPDATE: For those of you planning to attend Thurday's game, you'll probably get to see a little of Tom Brady. The Patriots quarterback told reporters at New England's camp that he's expecting to play. Brady missed almost all of last season after he tore up his knee in the season opener.

I wonder if Vermeil will be our motivational speaker/crier. He did win a super bowl! Maybe we can keep him in town for a few months.

A grammar lesson from a guy named "Uncle Eddie"...Uncle Eddie taught us a lot about how not to use pizza boxes - but grammar, not so much.

Wow, what a great sign! I'm sure that will really get to Brady as he admires his multiple superbowl rings, 8 figure bank account, and super model girlfriend.

I can't wait to see who Andy trots out as the starters on the O-line. I hate to feel this negatively, but I think the Andrew Sisters will be no-shows, and I fully expect Shawn to never play again. Bad backs, especially as bad as his is purported to be, do NOT heal wel enough to allow for this kind of super-strenuous activity. I thought we had a real chance at having a dominant line here, but now.....not so much. Good luck to all the guys, and PLEASE! Stay healthy.

Baskett gets hurt comments right away. Kolb gets hurt comments right away. Shawn Andrews has not played in nearly two years and has yet to comment. This guy does not want to play in the NFL, but doesn't know how to lose the good pay check. That makes him a thief in my book.

Stew tears his ACL and walks to Jim Johnson's memorial without a cane! Shawn should be given a complimentary box of DD Munchkins and sent home.

baskett "i'm good". NO YOUR NOT. com'on tbear, the key to this line is the left tackle (PETERS). if he's as good as andy thinks he is this will be a great line with or without the big kid. starters in september; peters, max, jamal, stacy and hermanns. mccoy backs up guards, runyan backs up tackles. justice backs down............JRV

Tom Brady is one of the top 5 QBs of all time. McNabb isn't even in the top 5 currently (P Manning, Brady, Big Ben, Brees, Rivers, and Warner are all better). Maybe Brady can instruct the choker on how not to suffer panic attacks during big games or keep from upchucking his lunch. Giants=NFC East Champs.
