BOLDIN'S PRICE STILL HIGH
Bob Brookover
According to an ESPN report, the Arizona Cardinals have reduced their asking price for wide receiver Anquan Boldin, but a league source I talked to a short while ago described that story as "BS."
The report also said the Eagles, New York Giants and New York Jets were all interested in Boldin. An Eagles source told me that the team is not close to making a trade at the moment even though the team has fielded a lot of phone calls today.
The Cardinals have also now denied that Boldin is available for a second-round pick, according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic. Somers said he had also talked to a reporter who covers the Giants and that the New York front-office people were denying that they were in serious discussions for Boldin. Somers said the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans were among the teams that have shown interest in Boldin.
It appears as if the Cardinals continue to ask for a first-round pick that they will not be able to trade Boldin.
I need to know. Why do eagle fans constantly come down on this team while flyer fans, who's team actually has done nothing for over 3 decads, continue to bow at their team that really doesnt play a sport? Flyer fans = Morons...much like eagle fans here... thingfish
The Ravens have less than 1 million in cap room, they can't afford Boldin so there's no point in them trading for him. ESPN is now reporting that the Cards have given the Titans permission to talk to Rosenhaus about a new contract for Boldin with the Titans offering a 2nd round pick and a player for Boldin. They also report that the Cards rejected an Eagles offer of a 2nd round pick, a 3rd round pick and Winston Justice. There is a report that the Eagles and Raiders are talking about a possible Burgess deal. I'm guessing the Cards want defensive players in a trade for Boldin. Maybe the Eagles are trying to get Burgess to include him in a Boldin deal? Either way, it looks like Bob needs to get some new sources. JimG
All this could soon be going away as espn.com is reporting the Titans have received permission to discuss contract with Boldin after their offer to the Cardinals of a 2nd rounder and a player. It also said the Eagles offered next years 2nd rounder, a 3rd this year and W. Justice. jbob123451
i am reporting that my friend told me that his mom said that her aunt told her that her nephew said that the Eagles have offered McNabb, DeSean Jackson, and coach pig for Boldin. Further updates as events warrant. thingfish
titans just got permission to talk to boldin's agent drew rosenhaus...titans are offering a 2nd round pick and a player to be named...i believe espn over philly.com any day of the week no10leclair
Really no10leclair? Espn.com just pulled back from the Arizona accepting the Titans offer report. This blogging stuff is ridiculous. Unless you sit in front of the pc 24/7 there will always be someone reporting something that you haven't. jbob123451
Chances are we won't know anything about a trade until after it's done (i.e. Jason Peters), and everything leading up to that is just a bunch of fluff. The obstacles to getting a deal done are obvious, in that Arizona would much rather see Mr. Boldin in the AFC than on their recent NFC title game opponent. The Eagles may have to offer significantly more than the Titans/Ravens to get her done. Also, just because Justice hasn't been impressive in Philly doesn't mean the guy doesn't have a lot of talent. He played lights out college ball and is reportedly buddies with Matt Leinart, and a change of scenery may do him some good. Not saying the Eagles should expect much for him, but he could end up as a decent R tackle in the league and may be more than just a throw-in. Zaknafein

ESPN reported it. 2nd round for Boldin. WHy would they report it on national TV? Unless Arizona is playing this game hard, I believe it. I don't believe that the Eagles will get him untill I see him with his green jersey, but still, I really think the Cards are serious in seeing what the best offer will be...they can always say no. I agree with JimG, trade leverage is big right now, everyone is bluffing onwhat they would like to do...specially if the g-men are interested what the Eagles are interested in...it just turns into a soup sandwich. It would be nice to have him though. The Jets are not in this...at least they shouldn't be, they have other, more important spots to fill. This would be great, a second rounder, we could still get D. Brown from conn. in the first. SonofBen5- My dog just barked 81 times, then paused and barked twice more. That means, since Boldin is #81, we're gonna get him for a 2nd round (2 barks) pick. Done deal. awl
