Andy Reid's endorsement of Michael Vick nearly identical to Monday's endorsement of Juan Castillo

Should Vick be worried about losing his starting job? (Ron Cortes/Staff Photographer)

What is Andy Reid’s next move?
Replacing Michael Vick with Nick Foles
Calling the offensive plays
Replacing the special teams coach
Trading for an offensive lineman

Andy Reid's endorsement of quarterback Michael Vick as his starting quarterback was just as strong as his Monday endorsement of Juan Castillo as his defensive coordinator. And we all saw that turned out.

Asked if Michael Vick will start against the Falcons, Reid sald: "As I sit here today, he's the starting quarterback."

On Monday, when he was asked if Castillo would still make the defensive playcalls, "that’s the way I’m looking at it as I stand right here.”

Reid said Tuesday that he's "looking at everything," an indication that Vick could still lose his job to Nick Foles. When Reid was told his answer about Vick could make fans believe he's considering a change, Reid understood.

"I'm just telling the truth," Reid said. "That's what I'm saying to you. Right now, Michael Vick is the starting quarterback."

Vick has 13 turnovers this season and has been the one of the main reasons why the Eagles offense is struggling. Reid started the Tuesday news conference announcing Castillo's dismissal by stating that "this one of of the moves." He said he'll continue to look at everything -- players, coaches, offense, defense special teams. The starting quarterback might be next.

"All I can tell you today is what I've got down today," Reid said, "and you can take it however you have to take it."

Foles will be RUINED behind this dreadful line. Don't bother. The season will end in failure one way or another, we might as well give Foles a chance next year, with a new coach and (hopefully) healthy/upgraded O-line.

We'll make him into a David Carr throwing behind this mess.

Foles seemed to do pretty well in pre-season against the exact same defenses that Vick was ineffective against. If you remember, Foles came in for Vick twice against the #1 defenses and move the ball pretty well. Why? Three steps (seconds) and throw - he doesn't hold the ball for 5, 6, 7 seconds!

You can't do that dgibig, this is Philly! We expressly prohibit the use of logic in any and all responses to Michael Vick. You've left me with only one conclusion i can make, you must be a racist...I'm on to you!

@gdbig. The work Foles did is just one preseason though, no way to tell if that would translate into the real game.

I loved what I've seen from Foles so far, but you can't judge him as a QB on his very limited amount of action - at least not from a fan's perspective. ...Compound that with the fact that he was only a 3rd round pick who surprised everybody with his play in the preseason - according to pro analysis, nobody was predicting what Foles did in preseason given his career in college.

Point being, he still an unknown.

And this is by no means making excuses for Vick - mainly his turnovers. But I do like what I've seen from Vick the last 3 weeks. ie., his 136 passer rating vs. the blitz against the giants & steelers and how he handled the blitz versus the lions. Not to mention, he was actually more effective with the short drops/quick read passes as opposed to the 7 feet drops/long developing plays. With the state of the OL, the Eagles are just not gonna have success with those type of plays right now.

If the turnovers continue AND the Eagles are on the brink of falling completely off the map, then I say make the switch. Till then, you have to go with Vick as he is capable of winning games for this team.

...can't forget his late 4th quarter TD drives in 5 of the 6 games this year either, 2 of which the defense gave back the lead.

I don't think andy can bench vick at this point. The o-line is terrible and is letting vick get hit 12 times a game and most in the league by far. I think that constant pressure is obviously effecting his game and ability to run the offense. They need to add protection to the line and give vick some more time to make plays.

Tick tock, tick tock...time is running out on Reid. Vick can't stay healthy for a full season...thought he be out by game 5...it's going to be long two weeks until we see what changes are forth coming.

Remember how the young Eagles big upped Vick while McNabb was still the QB? Now you got your QB and he is a turnover machine. This guy is determined to thro the ball 80 yards downfield double or triple coverage be damned. He's 5'11 throwing to a guy who's 5'6 over linemen who are 6'4 and above. Vick doesnt care about the blitz can't read a blitz and *gasp* can't run away from the blitz. 100 million get you this? If Andy wanted to pass 80% of the time he should have gotten a QB who could do that such as Payton Manning.

If I was KC, I'd rather pull McFlabb out of the NFL Network studios (I wonder if he uses the special chair they had built for Jamie Dukes!) instead of trading for Vick! What would they trade for him? Last week's hotdogs?

Hey Reality Speaks! Who ya gonna blame when Vick is next to get canned! I'll wait while you check your anyone but Vick's Fault list. Gonna run outta names eventually. Vick has something like 40 turnovers in his last 28 games, plus 4-5 fumbles this yr alone he was lucky to get back, plus 3-5 int's that he was lucky were dropped. Definitely not Vick's fault though. Learn to separate personal from professional! Vick has been terrible! PERIOD! I'll be expecting another lame excuse...
