Andy Reid not thinking about possibility of final game
Zach Berman, Inquirer Staff Writer
The narrative of what is likely Andy Reid's final game will be discussed in Philadelphia all week -- just not by Reid. As has been the case all season, Reid did not discuss the potential for his final game.
"I'm spending my time getting ready for New York," Reid said. "Want to make sure we play well, play better than we've been playing and coach better and play better. So, that's really where my energy's gone."
When asked specifically about whether he thinks it's his final game, Reid said, "I haven't gone there." And he said it's not a problem to think that way.

Defensive tackle Fletcher Cox and linebacker Mychal Kendricks remain out with concussions. Antonio Dixon was signed to add depth to defensive tackle.
"It looks like Cox is a little worse than Kendricks, but I can't tell you," Reid said. "He's got a headache today, but he also has migraines. They're evaluating that to see what's what there. They'll go through the protocol and just see what happens with it."
Derek Landri is starting at defensive tackle. Akeem Jordan is starting at outside linebacker.

Stanley Havili has returned to his fullback job. Emil Igwenagu continues to take snaps at fullback and tight end.
Geuninely hate that man... Wish i could tell him to his face

Reid deserves to play out his contract next year. Name me a coach in Philly with more wins??????
PhillyTerm- Charlie Manuel.
cityfan - Here is how good Andy Reid's Eagles are; Not 1 Eagle was named to the Pro Bowl on either side of the ball.
Thats not just poor drafting. Thats bad free agent signings, bad coaching and a bad scheme.
Time for him to go. - Philly Term,
For your information, there's no trophy for most career wins for 1 team. (You sound like a Reid apologist with only enough mental capacity to process having either Reid or Kotite as the coach, with no possibility to consider other options. I feel sorry for you.) jman
66-60 in the last 8 years. He doesn't deserve anything. Give me a solid reason that he deserves anything! Kottite 36-28 in 4 years. He was awful, right? Buddy Ryan 43-35 in 5 years. Stop acting like he is the end all. He had a great first 6 years. No one even heard of him prior to his hire, easily could happen again. Thanks for the memories Andy! BTW: He will be back because Lurie doesn't have a pair. Just wish it wasn't true.

Interesting, so you actually hate someone you've never met based off a child's game? You think, possibly, maybe, you are taking this stuff just a tad bit too seriously? For example, most people can count on one hand the people in their life they have truly hated, and usually these are people who have done great harm to them. So hating Andy Reid sounds like a really unhealthy fixation on your part. Hemingway
Reid has been a great coach for Philly. His biggest mistake was the type of players he installed when the rules changed. He made the team, smaller, faster, quicker, and most importantly, easy to game plan for. He built a team to lose. When he coaches again, he'll go back to his old style of picking players who are smart, tough, and leaders. camasbud
You don't have to go there, Andy, we're all going there for you. You'll be the most surprised guy in town come Sunday night or Monday morning when no one else is. PhillySubsMac
Reid should have been let go after the 2008 season. beegal99
Andy Reid not thinking about the future. Sounds about right. He wasn't thinking about the future when he made an offesive line coach his defensive coordinator. He wasn't thinking abut the future when he made an ex con his back up quarterback AFTER the TO fiasco. He wasn't thinking about his future when he decided to adopt Jim Washburn and the ridiculous wide nine scheme no one else in the league would even consider. Do not even try to defend a coach who doesn't consider the future. Larry Byrd
He may or may not be an outstanding human being, but I really don't think he's allowed anyone to get close enough to really know.My take is that the majority of his tenure he built his team with good character people, and players, and then he sold himself out(Vick). Then, when the locker room fell apart on him,he did it again(firing 'scapegoats')and that tells us all something.Everyone stands tall when things run smoothly, but you can determine the real integrity of a person when they face adversity.Reid just turned out to be a self-centered,egotistical sham. The locker room fell apart because of the very guys that he brought there.Good riddance....... aloha gary

Reid will be back easy- AR truly hasn't gone there. And on the day of his release, knowing him, if there is a press conference/mutual parting press conference, house money says that he will tell all in attendance that this moment is not about him, but about the need to improve the team for the next coach. There will be no bridge burnings, no call outs. Just keep in mind, the real fraud is the owner who set the pace for this franchise in it's quest to be the most unlikable in town.
They're all frauds. New ownership is needed. After AR is fired on Monday (deservedly so), we'll have a family-rich failed movie producer and a geek lawyer as the captains of this ship. Let's be honest here...AR wasn't the best coach here over the past 14 years. Jim Johnson was, and Lurie had ZERO to do with hiring him. Players like Dawk, Trot, Hugh, and Troy made that team championship caliber (as an aside, all Ray Rhodes' guys). It's going to be a terrible haul for Birds fans until Lurie finally sells out. vdstrading
@vdstrading: far be it from me to defend Reid or Lurie, but to be fair, Lurie did in fact hire Ray Rhodes. dasher
as usual, Andy seems very confused about how much time is left in the game.

Come on Guys. stop hating. Give AR his due for the all the divisions and playoff appearances. Yeah it's time for him to go and it is going to happen. But I remember a time when I was younger that the Eagles season was always over before November with no optimism in sight year after year. For about a decade at least Reid gave us hope and a real chance of winning it all. Philly Wildstar- I don't put all this on Lurie. Some of the Vets released during Reid's tenure still had good years left in them and prided themselves with good work ethics. Look at this bunch now lacking the football resolve to be better. Young guys with $100 bills falling out of their pockets with no respect for coaches, or the game. Reid with his ridiculous play calling, and coaching decisions made this a 3-ring Circus team. Add in a QB with the mega-million contract, illiterate at reading a defense, and super-bad dog karma and you have very little to look forward to next year. Homersez
you people degust me you hate a person you don't know Reid had alot of replacement players not starter players but you let a president of United States fail you I don't see you hating him for all his mistakes Detailzman- Learn to use punctuation, then one day you'll be taken seriously.

He's been here almost 2 years too long. Thanks to all the knucklesheads who still think this is 2004 we had to watch 2 straight seasons wasted. And some morons still want him back. Phils_World_Champs
I'm a lot more concerned with Howie and Mr. Lurie picking the new coach and drafting going forward. I want a real football guy running the show, but I don't own the team. If I did I would hire Ron Jaworski, hand him the keys and get out of his way. I trust every judgement he would make concerning football operations. I trust his love for the city, the fans, the franchise and the game. He is the answer to this mess. I hope against hope that we get some relief from the direction the team has been headed. HIRE JAWS FIRST is a facebook page where you can show support for the idea of Jaws as VP of Football Operations. Please stop by and give it a like if you agree that he's the man for the job. Thanks! bentlip- Get out of our city Andy shawnmac
Andy Reid is not a personnel man. He picks losers and pays them a lot of money. Corners, AA - DRC, then DeJack, Babin, Vick, TO, on & on... ricciaje
"... haven't gone there" means either he's lying or can't walk and chew gum at that same time. Neither is flattering. JohnnyL
i say keep him for 1 more year and bring back vick so if they fail once more then we have 4 years of the same and we can be totally sure they suck. i mean they way our luck is reid gets fired is hired by another team and wins the superbowl immediately and nationwide everyone will be like oh eagles fan becareful what you wish for this could have been you!!!!! or reid with out vick i dunno id like to see them come back and if they fail again then they have no more excuses and all the reid and vick sympathisers can see or prove us wrong. defroe
Woody7236 - here's why you should never post again or attempt to give an opinion on an Eagles message board: You just referenced the Pro Bowl voting results as a reason to fire a coach, or to prove how a team does not have good players. Go back to playing Madden or Chess you absolute idiot. EagleFanFromLI
