Andy Reid: 'I want to coach'

POSTED: Friday, December 28, 2012, 1:52 PM

Andy Reid reiterated he wants to coach next season, two days before what will likely be his final game coaching the Eagles.

"I want to coach," Reid said.

Reid said he has not spoken to Jeffrey Lurie this week about the future. Reid will self-scout during the offseason. He has maintained the support from his players.

"That's up to him," tight end Brent Celek said about Reid continuing to coach. "I think he loves coaching too much, loves the game too much to get out of it. So I think he'll keep coaching. Hopefully it's here, but you never know."

**Fletcher Cox and Mychal Kendricks are out. Both have concussions.

**Jeremy Maclin's likely to play.

The Tonner's bought a case of Genny Cream Ale and is going to start drinking it after the game Sunday to see what happens first:
    A) Reid is fired.
    B) The Tonner passes out.
    C) The case of Genny Cream Ale is gone.

Shhould be a tight race. Care to take any wagers?

Just like always....the Philly media, and Philly fans always chasing good coaches and players out of town. Andy Reid is a good coach. Injuries was the reason for the collapse of the Eagles in 2012. I hope Jeffrey Lurie keeps Andy Reid. No more Vick. Build around Nick Foles

donjuango, I concur with you one hundred per cent. Andy needs to stay here and get this team rolling again, if not only for the city and the fans but also to show the many writers who say he is all but gone!

I'd like to see him coach anywhere but here. That way, the Eagles would only have to worry about thirty other teams instead of thirty-one.

I want Andy Reid to return. I think with the right defensive coordinator the Eagles could be a top team again within the next couple years.

He's had so much success with McDermott, Castillo and Bowles, the Tonner can see how you would want Andy picking the next coordinator. Tell the Tonner, do you ever get a reach around afterwards?

Andy Reid should take some time off to spend with his family. Maybe come back in one or two years. It would be therapeutic for him.
