Andrews Is Back

POSTED: Saturday, August 16, 2008, 12:42 PM

Not since the Pope passed this way have the masses waited with eager anticipation or the appearance of Shawn Andrews in training camp.

The right guard, who has been suffering from depression, finally got onto the field with his teammates this morning at the NovaCare practice facility.

Andrews will practice with the team this afternoon, said coach Andy Reid.

"We'll see how he does this week," Reid said when asked whether he could foresee Andrews playing againt New England next week. "He has a good support group around him. He worked with Juan [Castillo] yesterday. We'll see how he does."

Reid said Andrews' state of mind is "in a good place right now" and that he is surprised that Andrews appears to be in pretty good football shape for having missed all of training camp to this point.

"We just communicate with him," Reid said. "That's the important thing right now. Just keep open communicaiton. He has a tight-knit support staff right now, he's in  a good place, and we'll see how it works out."
