DeSean to miss practice with hamstring injury

POSTED: Thursday, September 13, 2012, 1:11 PM

Which team will win Sunday's Eagles-Ravens game?
Eagles
Ravens

The Eagles are down another receiver.

DeSean Jackson missed Thursday's practice with a hamstring strain, according to the team.

The Eagles wide receiver injured his hamstring during Wednesday's practice and was seen walking around afterward with a large wrap of ice on his left leg. He had no comment after Thursday's practice.

Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin did not practice either Wednesday or Thursday because of a hip pointer. He suffered his injury in the season opener at the Browns.

Maclin's and Jackson's status for Sunday's game against the Ravens is uncertain, although Jackson's injury is not believed to be as serious.

The Eagles signed Mardy Gilyard on Tuesday after Maclin's injury. The team is currently thin at receiver with Riley Cooper also out with a broken collarbone. Cooper returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time since his injury in late July but was held out Thursday.

If Maclin can't play Sunday, rookie Damaris Johnson could start in his place. The Eagles also have veteran slot receiver Jason Avant as an option, as well as Gilyard.

Cornerback Curtis Marsh was limited with a hamstring injury.

@bedpan, didn't I see before that you had slammed us for not drafting Earl Thomas with that pick? Or was that some other troll?

    This is troubling news indeed.

YOU ARE GETTING YOUR ANDY REID DRAFT DAY BLUNDERS CONFUSED. BUT THAT IS UNDERSTANDABLE. THERE ARE SO MANY REID DRAFT DAY BLUNDERS. JPP AND EARL THOMAS WERE BOTH AVAILABLE WHEN REID SELECTED BRANDON "TOO SLOW, TOO SOFT, TOO SHORT, TOO WEAK, ARMS LIKE TWIGS" GRAHAM IN THE FIRST ROUND OF APRIL 2010. REGARDING JAIQUAN JARRETT, HE WAS PICKED A YEAR LATER IN THE SECOND ROUND. I MENTIONED TORREY SMITH BECAUSE IT LOOKS, WITH THE SIGNING OF GILYARD, THAT THE EAGLES ARE THIN AT WR AND SMITH (WHO WILL BE IN TOWN ON SUNDAY) WAS STILL ON THE BOARD WHEN REID SELECTED JARRETT.

AND, THEY SIGNED AUTOGRAPHS ON AUTOGRAPH DAY THAT "meant something to this team." GREAT POINT ALEX KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

BEFORE THE EAGLES GO ANYWHERE, REID WILL HAVE TO GO OUT THE DOOR. AND YES, WITH THE 54TH PICK IN THE 2011 DRAFT THE EAGLES SELECTED SOMEONE THAT IS NOW, IN LESS THAN A YEAR AND A HALF, OUT OF FOOTBALL. THAT JAIQUAWN JARRETT PICK WAS LAUGHABLE HA.HA.HA.HA.HA...
