Eagles: Asomugha no concussion symptoms

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Nnamdi Asomugha, who suffered a violent collision with Nate Allen during Monday's practice, has no concussion symptoms, according to an Eagles spokesman.

FROM EARLIER:

Nnamdi Asomugha is being evaluated for a concussion after he collided with Nate Allen on Monday.

The cornerback suffered a lip laceration and had a sore neck, the Eagles said.

Asomugha laid face down on the ground with little to no movement for close to five minutes before he finally rose to one knee. The cornerback then slowly stood, was helped to a cart and driven inside. Asomugha's shirt was bloodied and he held his head as he drove off.

Allen was down for a brief period, but he got up much quicker than Asomugha and returned to practice.

If Asomugha suffered a concussion it would be his second in a little over eight months. He left in the second quarter of the Seattle game on Dec. 1 of last year. He did not miss a game, however, partly because the Eagles did not play again until Dec. 11.

Joselio Hanson filled in for Asomugha at right cornerback after he left.

If only Nate Allen could deliver those kind of hits to the opposition!

The Izell Jenkins (defensive backfield) is going to look like swiss cheese. The offense is going to need to be the second coming of the greatest show on turf this year if they want to win the division. At least Juan will be gone. Andy will still be here however. He's going to bring in Colonel Sanders to take Juan's place. Whether you like it or whether you don't like it, you know you'd better learn to love it. Fools' gold!

Nnamdi is soft and a fraud....DRC is a fraud....Vick already hurt in the first preseason game...It's going to be a long season..Get rid of Castillio already!!! I mean come on...Reid has to go as well...This team has 8-8 written all over it..

That's Great Greg (Brady Bunch reference!) but don't be so blindly optimistic about everything all the time. Things can go less than smoothly in life sometimes. I just don't want you to get your naive and trusting heart broken. BTW: THAT WAS SARCASM!! Lighten up or find something else to do with your time. It's only preseason. Why waste your time if you're convinced it's already all over?? Get a hobby, volunteer, go for a walk. Sheeeeeshh!

Hahaha...good point....but then again, when he "collides" with the opposition, they score touchdowns or get first downs....Nnamdi did get knocked out! lol

Hopefully come Sept.9 we will have a competitive team to put on the field and not just a bunch of walking wounded.

How are 2 of our secondary players hitting each other? Sounds like another "bad angle" was taken by Allen which would be typical. I wasn't there and this report provides little insight but this secondary needs practice hitting but not hitting each other! Hit the WR and RB's for christ sake Allen

Unbelievable. We must lead the league in D-backs hitting each other, I have never seen more collisions between players on the same side of the ball. I am sure the offensive player went on to score. Amazing

Under no circumstances should a safety and a corner be near that close in practice. Juan Castillo is completely out of place and is going to cost the team a lot more than his career. He's going to start costing others' as well, especially Andy. C'mon Andy, you have to see this guy is in over his head. Get him out of there already!!

I didn't realize most of the Philly players were made of porcelein.

This was a 1st preseason game where its more like touch football, Vick almost broke his hand, Kafka did break his hand, and Asomugha has a concussion.

I guess Pittsburgh is a much more physical team. Its like the difference between a pro team and college team.

lol, that some brillian insight DogBiscuit, where would the Eagles be without insight like that. fmMD has a point, and Pittsburg is in fact a more physical team, and Andys pathetic record against power run teams that run 3-4 D's like Pittsburg and baltimore is TERRIBLE. His record against PIT/BAL/NE combined is like .100. Those 3 teams have won 6 of the last 12 superbowls, or 50% of the entire leagues superbowls. Andy has won ZERO in THIRTEEN YEARS. ITS PATHETIC. HIS SYSTEM IS SO STUPID ITS NOT EVEN HARD FOR THOSE GUYS TO BEAT IT. ITS BECOME EASY AND EVEN LAUGHABLE. P A T H E T I C

OK here is what you know ya blow hard Andy's record against your so called power running teams is 3-2 VS Steelers 2-1 VS Baltimore 1-1. Now the Pats there a different story at 1-4 they are hardly a running team. But then again how many NFC teams had a good record against them while they cheated and filmed there way to the top.

uh no...I see 2-1 vs steelers, 1-1 vs Baltimore, and Andy beat the Pats once in 99 when they probably were not a power run tema but some bad 5-11 team before bellichek got there. Hes 0-5 vs bellichek, last time they played baltimore it was HORRIBLE the game they lost like 34-10 with McNabb struggling the whole half and Kolb came in to relace him and also struggled in Andys dumb offense. And the last two preseason games agaisnt the steelers have been COMPLETE BLOWOUTS when the starters were in. This will be the first time they play both those teams in 4 years, and the last meets were all PATHETIC. So instead of name calling maybe DO SOME RESEARCH.

Vick almost broke his hand? Lol, it's not flag football people get hurt, Nnamdi is not seriously hurt, so what actually is his point genius, that people that play football get hurt? Steelers had several injuires during the game, does that make them porcelin as well? He has a point, it's a dopey one just like everything you bring here daily.

lol, wow. It makes sense to defend a team if they are actually smart and the critism doesnt make sense, but apparently its the opposite with you, you defend the team just because of being a homer, which shows no actual knowledge of anything. I actually use "logic" and in some cases will be critical and in others, positive (the phillies). If you have the same stance by default about everything, that does not show any intelligence. Maybe if you make more dumb statements REID WILL WIN A SUPERBOWL. THAT MUST BE IT.

I am surprised that Allen is the one that got up without injury. He's always injured. Give him time, he'll be limping around by game 1. I think Allen is talented, but unfortunately injury prone, and he was pretty close to being injured again today.

Chill guys. Todd Bowles was hired for a reason. Hard work does not overcome everything. Remember, Spags and at least one other were desired ahead of Juan. i would love for Nate Allen to lay that shot on any cowgirl. Go EAGLES !

Gee hindsight, two guys bumped heads...nothing like a little hysteria from you and the rest of the chicken liitle team. A bump on the head and you wet yourself. Hey, I heard Trent Cole has a boo boo...can you do another 500 words on Reid now, please? Sheez.
