Obama to Nnamdi: 'Tell Vick to slide'

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- President Obama apparently feels the same way many Eagles fans feel when they see Michael Vick scrambling down field without a fear in the world.
Nnamdi Asomugha spoke at an event for Obama on Monday in Oakland in which he introduced the President. They spoke afterward about football, according to the Eagles cornerback, and the leader of the free world had some advice for the leader of the Eagles.
"He did," Asomugha said Wednesday after he reported to Lehigh University for the start of training camp. "He told me to tell Vick to slide."
Really?
"Promise," Asomugha said. "We talked about football for about three or four minutes and the one thing that stuck out, 'Tell Vick to slide.' He's a big fan."
Vick responded to Obama's request on Twitter.
"If the President of the U.S. is saying I need to slide then I really need to start sliding. lol. Thanks Mr. President!," Vick wrote.
Asomugha has said before that he's met Obama before. The 31-year old also considers former President Bill Clinton a confidant. Asomugha has attended the Clinton Global Initiative University in Austin, Tex. since 2009 to discuss the importance of global service and student activism.
The worldly cornerback, who has many interests outside of football, said he also visited London and Toyko this offseason. Monday's event in Oakland was for Obama, Asomugha said.
"I was able to get everybody excited," Asomugha said about introducing Obama. "That was a big moment. It's been an interesting summer."

- I watch sports to get away from Politiics - can Asomugha please tell the president to stay out of sports, and also if they are really close could you ask him not to run for president again. I know he has been campaigning for the last four years but I think many Americans would really appreciate some hope and change vs negative comments about billionaires and millionaires who are the obvious ruination of our country because they are not on disability - which is the wave of the future since it is the fastest growing part of our economy. Those guys have it figured out. When we can get them to critical mass this economy will be humming right along. Watch out China here we come after you on our wheel chairs.— JL68

- Socialism is a failed approach to an economy since once you start asking someone else to take care of you you have given up. Once you have given up as a culture you are done. We will see in this election who wants what... Unfortunately i think America will choose to give up and want to be taken care of. The costs will be higher unemployment, lower quality of life, government healthcare, and an economic burden to pay for the elderly that will have to be subsidized with massive government debt. In 10 years there be about one worker for one retiree. And we will be taking most of the workers money to cover the government committment to the retirees( why because they vote and make a lot of noise). Hard to get that worker motivateed when there is nothing to work for. I wonder if there is a level in dante's inferno for the large number of baby boomers who sold their childrens future down the toilet just so they could avoid a little pain.— JL68

What's the average IQ of a fox viewing Republican that makes less than 250K a year? If they're not in the top 1% it must be pretty low because they're voting for someone that wants to make the top 1 % richer by giving them tax breaks, increasing taxes on the bottom 20%, replacing Medicaid with vouchers and repealing more of the same market and banking regulations that got us into this financial mess in the first place. Not to mention a president and party that want to pay off the deficit by incorporating a national sales tax to put the onus of paying off the deficit on the middle and lower class. Yeah, dickle down economics, it's worked so well the inflation has doubled the cost of living since Reagan and the middle class average salary hasn't increased in 30 years. Republicans - 99% morons voting for their slave masters. Oh, but at least we'll be back in the stone ages again where women get abortions in back alley's and nobody is getting government assistance as their jobs are outsourced to China.
