Vick, Maclin out for Patriots game

POSTED: Saturday, November 26, 2011, 6:35 PM

As expected, Michael Vick and Jeremy Maclin have been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Patriots, according to Eagles sources.
Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, who hyperextended his left knee at Thursday’s practice, will be a game-time decision.
Vince Young will start in place of Vick at quarterback for the second straight game, as will Riley Cooper for Maclin (shoulder/hamstring) at wide receiver.
Vick, who broke two ribs on Nov. 13 against the Cardinals, did not practice at all last week. He did increase his throwing on the side with each day and could be healthy enough to return for Thursday night’s game at Seattle.
Cooper will start opposite DeSean Jackson (foot bruise), who was listed as probable on Friday’s injury report.
If Asomugha can’t go, Brandon Hughes will be his primary replacement at right corner.
Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (high ankle sprain) practiced some Friday and was listed as questionable, but he is not expected to play.— Jeff McLane

On any given Sunday anyone can win. That being said this will not be one of those any given Sundays. Patriots 45 - Eagles 17.

This is turning out to be a terrible football week. Cowboys won, PSU lost and the eagles are about to get trounced. Not seeinng anyway we can beat the Pats, even at full strength. Bill Bellicheck eats the fat boys lunch.......again

I really do not like the Eagles and HOPE they lose; however, I see the Eagles pressuring Brady into sacks and INTs. I also see the Eagles running right through the horrible Pats defense. I guess I just see this game differently from others.

Eagles paying the price for sharing their backfield with unblocked pass rushers.

    Now its Young vs Brady.

Maybe Brady will have a bad hair day.

Note that the Eagles couldn't beat Arizona without Jackson, but they could beat the Giants without Maclin and Vick. I imagine they can compete with the Patriots because of Jackson- their main offensive game-changer. But they will never win anything of note because Lurie, Reid, and Banner are nuts (see the previous lines for proof).

Vince Young will play the worst game of his pathetic career! Please get well Michael. You are an awesome talent!
Vince Young will play the worst game of his pathetic career! I will never forget when he walked off the field when the Titan fans booed him. Can you imagine how we would have handled that in our city? Get well Michael!! You are a class act!

"I also see the Eagles running right through the horrible Pats defense."

Uhhhhhh, recGUY, Patriots have the 12th ranked rushing defense. Also, they are ranked 9th in points allowed. True they are ranked last in passing yards, but they are hardly a "horrible defense".

Truth is, you are an Eagles fan in denial.

Patriots probably won't score a touchdown on EVERY drive, but could SCORE on every drive, until they take their foot off the gas pedal in the 2nd half with a huge lead. Belichick doesn't want to embarrass Andy any more than is necessary. Pats romp 45-17, and game is not as close as the score indicates....as Eagles score late garbage time TD to get to 17.

Vick isn't displaying much heart! Romo played the following week after puncturing a lung. I Guess It shouldn't come as much of a surprise, being the gutless thug that he Is. It's also real convenient that he can't seem to muster up the guts to play the most significant game of the year. I truly hope that Vince can engineer an upset victory over the Patriots! SOAR EAGLES!!!

I love the 45-17 predictions, the Patriots have generally been in close games most of the season they lost at home to the team we beat on the road last week, and needed a last minute drive to beat a Dallas team we thrashed at home. The Eagles even in their losses have been in every game this season I dont really understand why anyone assumes the game will get "ugly" also the last time they faced Brady against a far better Patriots team on the road they were a 4th quarter A.J Feeley pick away from beating him. It is once again going to be a close game that could go either way in the 4th quarter.

Man oh man eagles fans! first off, i love the eagles and think this will be close (though not pretty). but you fans are really so fickle and turn on and off so quickly! support your team, like the pats fans do up in new england no matter what - that's what the team needs from you. on top of that, whoever reads this and will be AT the link tomorrow, PLEASE STAND during the game - don't wait ONLY for 3rd down defensive plays, and only when players signal for you to stand!!! but stand up during the game like weak fans do around the rest of the league (read: pats, raiders, skins, really all other teams but the giants and jets). those of you who've been yelled at to 'sit down' during eagles' games know what i'm talking about. have fun, support the team, and eventually you'll be rewarded!
