Following up on his shopping spree contest, DeSean Jackson will hold a weekly essay contest for Philadelphia-area middle and high school schools in which one student will win two Eagles home game tickets, an autographed jersey and will meet with the Pro Bowl wide receiver following the game.

Winners will be announced Saturday mornings before each game.

Students in Grades 6-12 that wish to enter the contest should draft a short essay of 500 words or less describing "their goals in life" and "how receiving a quality education will help them achieve their goals," according to a press release.

Essays should include the entrant's full name, grade, high school, and should be e-mailed to Jackson's publicist, Bobby McRae, at: Twenty10Sports@gmail.com.

"I realize that I’m a role model for thousands of kids in Philadelphia and that I have the ability to help impact and change lives," Jackson said in the release. "This is about helping high school students understand the importance of education in their lifelong goals. This is about community and I hope that by doing this, I can encourage other professional athletes all across the country to hear the call to serve others in need."

On Tuesday, Jackson took the Sanderson family of Overbrook on a shopping spree at a Shop Rite in South Philadelphia.

"DeSean continues to realize this is the time to give back," McRae said. "Education is important and will determine, almost more than anything, a kid's future. DeSean's a great athlete on the field, but he wants to apply that same dedication and devotion to matters off the field."
