Neumann-Goretti senior Tyreek Duren will attend today's Temple University men's basketball practice, according to a source close to the situation. The source also said the 6-foot, 180-pound point guard will watch La Salle's Friday practice.

Duren plans to make an oral commitment to play college basketball in the near future.  Temple and La Salle are the frontrunners, while Massachusetts is third.  All three schools are members of the Atlantic Ten Conference.

Whenever he does decide on a college, the 17-year-old will become the third Neumann-Goretti player to secure a basketball scholarship.  Senior guard Tony Chennault gave an oral commitment to Wake Forest last year. Senior forward Daniel Stewart accepted a scholarship to Rider on Friday.

Duren, who averaged 12.8 points last season, has strong moves to the basket. He can dribble, dish and has range on his shot.

I believe that Aaric and Earl and more playing time then Temple can offer will give the advantage to the Explorers.
