You know whats really a shame about this? I feel bad for the guys who work for this program It's not their fault they didn't create the problem. That came from a Bad-Apple in the bunch. These guys work like dogs in the rain, sleet and yes even snow they come into your neighborhood clean your streets and yet some people who don't have all the information, out of sheer ignorance talk and treat these workers as if they did what Fumo did. Thats wrong! They are trying to do their jobs earn an honest living and support their families. I for one am proud of these guys for coming in and and taking care of these neighborhoods cause the truth in the matter no one else would. So the next time you see one of these guys tell them Thank You.

I agree with barbedwire. Citizens Alliance has always done an excellent job providing services that the city administration does not give. Our neighborhoods now have to depend on them more and more. Councilman Frank DiCicco and Senator Fumo came up with a tremendous idea. Christian DiCicco continues the great work started by Ruth Arnao. The employees work hard and deserve praise.

I just googled the Yacht Enticer. The museum sold it two years ago at a $3.5 million loss. It's still operating for rental. If you and five friends want to take a week's cruise in it, it will cost you $28,000 (plus tip). Fumo got it for free? Add insult to injury - he stiffed the crew for the tip. Cheap!

Live from the courtroom, the Inquirer is blogging the federal corruption trial of State Sen. Vincent J. Fumo and his longtime friend and associate Ruth Arnao.

Highlights of testimony, rulings and the courtroom scene will be posted here regularly. Fumo, a Democratic state senator since 1978, is accused in a 139-count indictment of conspiring to defraud the Senate, a South Philadelphia nonprofit, and the Independence Seaport Museum; obstruction of justice; and tax violations. The fraudulent activity totaled $3.5 million, prosecutors allege.
