Pendo....if the guy from the Seaport Museum got 15 years for stealing 1.5 million, Vince is sure to get more. I'll take the over and predict he gets 17 1/2 - 20 years. He could be out in a little over 11 years with good behavior.

I am told that he will have to complete at least 80 percent of the sentence given. I think 10 - 15 years for him and 5-10 for Ruth. He won't survive his sentence!

I guess one of you Fumocrats removed my previous comment. Nonetheless, your boy is going away for a LONG time and it won't be cruising on Martha's Vineyard.

I note that anyone who has a pro fumo idea is marked as a fumocrat. but they seem to be the nicer people compared to the ugly remarks by those who seem out to get fumo, all 98 of them.

I still don't understand why this case was tried in Philly. He will get off easy with a Philly jury as Vinnie's way is who politics operates in Philly. Anywhere else, especially W.PA. they would fry him.

If the judge has any intention of making an example of this case, he should give Fumo a 30 to 50 year sentence and let him serve as many as he can. He likes to work with tools. He can now make license plates!

no one will do all the good things done by the SEN. this is a political vendetta to hurt a person who helped a lot of people.

Q. What do Leonard Luchko and Sammy_b have in common? A. They both need to get a life.

Sammy, get a grip on reality buddy. You too, La Diva. Attila the Hun did good things for his people too but he was, nevertheless, a murdering, ruthless thug. Vince isn't a thug but he is a law breaking criminal. Get over it and move on with your lives.

vinces' whole life was just like his defence. if he did his mom and dad would pat him on the head and say thats ok heres some money and we'll fix it for you. so when vinny mensa grows up he still thinks every thing he does is ok...wrong he will get 12 years he has to do 85% he'll do 10yrs. 2mos. (could get 1/2 wayhouse and get 6mos. off)

The courts in Phily are always generous and if this was the court of common pleas Vinnie would get off...but it's a federal court that draws its jurors from outside of Philly and it's more than likely that they will convict...Vince has already suffered a loss of freedom...he's no longer going to be a Senator...he no longer has a staff that will jump at every twitch of a finger or nasty, demanding emails...and most of all his phone won't ring and no one in the political world is going to kiss his ring...you have no idea how much that hurts hime...he can't yell and scream or intimidate to get his way...if he wants something he'll have to ask nicely and say pretty please...in the end he will miss the power...his punishment has already started...his time in jail (whatever the sentence)is just icing on the cake.
About Inquirer Breaking News
Live from the courtroom, the Inquirer is blogging the federal corruption trial of State Sen. Vincent J. Fumo and his longtime friend and associate Ruth Arnao.

Highlights of testimony, rulings and the courtroom scene will be posted here regularly. Fumo, a Democratic state senator since 1978, is accused in a 139-count indictment of conspiring to defraud the Senate, a South Philadelphia nonprofit, and the Independence Seaport Museum; obstruction of justice; and tax violations. The fraudulent activity totaled $3.5 million, prosecutors allege.

More information and background on the Fumo trial.
