What chimp let this cartoon run?

Here's
one that could have used an editor.

The New York Post ran a cartoon today that has drawn some heat - not to mention phone calls, e-mails and threats to burn down the building.

I'm guessing its creator, Sean Delonas, thought he could lasso a few things in the news, the economic stimulus package and that wild chimp story.

Why? Why?

Romensko did a nice job of linking the chatter from the chattering MSMersbloggers, Tweeters.

The Post's editor defended the drawing. "The cartoon is a clear parody of a current news event, to wit the shooting of a violent chimpanzee in Connecticut," Col Allan said in a statement. "It broadly mocks Washington's efforts to revive the economy."

Gawker collects some favorite cartoons that Delonas has drawn. He sure does spot-on work with gay people, too.
