Seasons change, again.

Well, Hello There

Officially, the season changed last week, but this morning marked the first day it really felt like Fall.

Others in the Kinney household grumbled at the cool air, but I left the windows wide open and started humming the tune I think of every autumn since I moved here 15 years ago: Hall & Oates' fabulous Fall in Philadelphia.

(The song was on the band's first album. Video below is a modernized version from a Live from Daryl's House session with singer-songwriter Diane Birch. I think it's quite nice.)

Pour yourself another cup of coffee, tighten that robe and enjoy.

"Tighten that robe...". Boy, you can tell you're an ol' married woman. My listening moments are best enjoyed in my underwear, dunking spice waffers in my coffee. Life doesn't get any better than this.

Ha! I had breakfast on the brain, as I wrote the post when it was still early and chilly. But, to be fair, my 7 year-old had a hot pink fleece robe on at the time. Of course, all moot now -- just came in from an assignment and it's 80 degrees. So I guess it's fall by morning, summer by afternoon?
