Too cool for cicadas, too hot for a bear?
No sign of the bugs, but a bruin is all over the place
By now we were supposed to be awash, if that's the word, in cicadas.
But recent cool weather appears to have delayed the much-anticipated/dreaded arrival of the horrid-looking, albeit harmless, bugs in and around South Jersey.
An adorable (yet potentially dangerous) black bear is suddenly everywhere, however -- including Moorestown's Strawbridge Lake, where he was spotted taking a dip.
As temperatures rise past 90 today, perhaps the wandering bear will return to his favorite swimming hole. And perhaps the cicadas, the spawn of a brood that made its last appearance 17 years ago, will emerge at long last.
