"Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey"

Jon Bon Jovi is alive and well

Rocker/actor/philanthropist Jon Bon Jovi disproved online rumors of his demise Monday.

Bon Jovi, 49, cheekily Tweeted a photo of himself in front of a Christmas tree, holding up a piece of paper.

The handwritten message was dated December 19, 2011 and proclaimed: "Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey."

The singer also appeared live, and alive, last night at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank.

Bon Jovi was born in Perth Amboy and supports progressive causes statewide, including the Heart of Camden organization.

In addition to re-installing Bon Jovi's 1986 smasheroo "Livin' on a Prayer" in my mental soundtrack -- from which I hoped to have permanently expunged it -- the rumor reminded me of the "Paul is dead" frenzy that swept the world in 1969.

Back then, it took a Life magazine cover to convince my fevered teenage brain that the cute Beatle was still with us.
