Eagles camp decamps Bethlehem for South Philly roost

Eagles training camp starts this week. Can you handle the excitement?

The little town of Bethlehem is in mourning. After 17 years of summer practice at Lehigh, the Eagles have decamped and Bethlehem is experiencing empty nest syndrome as The Inquirer's Frank Fitzpatrick reports.

Now, the Eagles will sweat and tackle in South Philadelphia, home of virtually every other sporting event, including seeing "Red" and screaming for Taylor Swift .

Many Eagles fans will also miss the dulcet mumblings, consistent throat clearings, and barely audible stylings of Andy Reid. We're experienced mumbles withdrawel.

Really, it was sort of performance art crossed with Samuel Beckett.

Already, new coach Chip Kelly has clearly articulated more thoughts than Reid did during his 13-year tenure. Also, we will not miss last year's beyond-dismal 4-12 season.
