A second act for Medford's mayor?

Who knows -- the first is still unfolding

After hi-jinks with hookers, Eliot Spitzer resigned from the governorship of New York.

Later, he got his own TV show.

After sex-tweeting photos of himself in his underwear, Anthony Weiner resigned from Congress.

Lately, he's been photographed enjoying life in NYC and DC with his glamorously pregnant wife.

Perhaps Medford, NJ Mayor Chris Myers – currently caught up in a murky tale of (same sex) sex-for-hire and underwear – takes comfort from these scandal survivors.

Or perhaps not: Spitzer and Weiner have 'fessed up, while Myers continues to deny all.

Whether or not one believes the mayor, that supposedly incriminating photo of a middle-aged bald guy attired only in singularly ill-advised underpants looks exactly like … any middle-aged bald guy with bad taste in briefs.

There's surely more than one of those. Even in Medford.

Also, since when did online accusations by an anonymous prostitute become evidence of anything?

Years ago I remember breathlessly informing my editor that "a hooker on Admiral Wilson Boulevard says she's got a great story!"

He looked at me, lit another Newport (it was the '70s), and growled.

"Every hooker's got a 'great story.'"
