Hello Again

Is anybody there?

We've had problems getting the old Blinq thing back online, as you may have gathered. I proposed this: if they'd only turn on my comments, I'd start blogging a bit.

So I ask, Is thing thing on?

Sooooo, you are blogging again? I mean, great, but ... what happened? You mocked the idea of blogging for fun in the "Toe-tag Blinq" (or something); not that I blame you! I've actually checked here occasionally since you went to the column ... clearly, I need a life ... and can't tell what the deal is. Just curious, are you back to Blinq?

I am so back to Blinq. I wasn't as much mocking the idea of blogging for fun as wondering how I'd find the time, given the crunch of a two-a-week metro column. But where else could I spread the stardust of Summer of Love memories, as experienced by a 11-year-old? What will happen with Blinq? Dunno, but I can tell you one thing -- being a certified columnist and being expected to have opinions liberates what I can do with Blinq. I always had this sense of a line -- flexible, but real -- that I could not cross without impairing any return to straight reporting. No more worries about that.
