Here's one to smoke on - did you know that if you are looking for Fox 29's Web site, and type in wtxf.com (that's the TV station's call letters), you wind up at the online home of Cannabis.com?
That's where Kariyanine at Metroblogging found herhimself. The station's actual Web address is foxphiladelphia.com.
She wonders if XTXF is some secret code for marijuana.
Here's a link to some backstory on that one. I remember participating in this phl.media thread in 1999, when this jagoff came in wanting $1500 for the domain name. Ah crap. Maybe this one: http://groups.google.com/groups?as_q=wtxf.com Anyway, this domain squatter -- raal name from whois information, Ron Bennett -- wandered into the newsgroup and offered the domain for sale. We flamed him and outed him. After some time, he posted that it had been sold. But whois information still shows Mr. Bennett as the owner to this day. So much for the get-rich-quick scheme of domain squatting; it may not even make you enough to keep you in quality weed.
