Throwing From The Left

Koufax Some local bloggers have made it to the finals of the Koufax Awards, the laurels named for the left-handed Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher of lore.

Susie Madrak, who writes Suburban Guerrilla, is one of 12 vying for Best Writing in a liberal blog.

Will Bunch, made the grade for Best Local or State blog. UPDATE: So did Blue Jersey, crows Cherry Hill blogger Jay Lassiter.

A couple group blogs with South Philly ties are in the hunt for Best New Blog: Booman Tribune, which is hosted Martin Longman, and State of The Day, written by three people including one local named Jeff.

And Atrios is up for the big one, Best Blog.

A greater reward awaits for him, however. He says he's about to be portrayed in The West Wing. By email, he says he hasn't seen the episode. Portraying him, he says, is "a dorky anti-social actor."

This is Philadelphia. Vote several times. Whether you're alive or dead.

Hey, Me and my gang of witty progressives are nominated for The 2005 Koufax Awards Finalists: Best State or Local Blog. Not bad for an outfit that began 6 months ago. and on a bitchier note.... p.s. Atrios is also nominated in the folllowing categories: *Most likely to rest on his laurels * most open threads * most likely to poach all his best stuff from his readers' comments.

hssssssssss! Even though I am naturally left-handed, and idolized old Sandy for not pitching on the holidays, it's for lefty blogs, and I don't think Blinq is a lefty blog. It's a cranky blog.
