The Streak Lives
Jimmy Rollins ropes one down the first-base line in the bottom of the 8th at Citizen's Bank Park.
37 consecutive games with a hit.
His double gives Phillies fans something to wave their tea towels at on Opening Day. Otherwise, the St. Louis Cardinals are swinging in the rain, ahead 13-5.
UPDATE: Make that past tense. It's an L. Phillies lose. But there's a rainbow: Cardinals skipper Tony La Russa says that with the count 3 and 0 he signaled the catcher to call for a strike, which Rollins hit. The AP piece quotes La Russa saying: "You have to play the game. We can't walk him in that spot."
