Kill Duck Before Serving
I do enjoy newspaper corrections - how a paper confuses the name of a foreign leader for an item on the menu - that sort of thing. The New York Times reporter who types Rambo for Rimbaud. And the straight-faced oops - we had a good one from a few years back:
In Sunday's Arts & Entertainment section, an article about the film Kill Bill erroneously referred to Ricardo Montalban's character in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan as a Klingon. Khan was an evil human bent on universal domination, though he does quote a Klingon proverb.
Reading Romensko just now, I come upon a year-end Regret The Error wrap-up of the bloggers' favorite flubs.
My favorite is still what they did to that poor lady from Texas.
That's two-fer. Can I dupe a copy of that comment under "The Register" post as well?
I have just one from Philly.com, in June the headline to this article initially read "Underage driver pleads guilty in fatal homicide" I swear.
Oops is right. That's a different charge, I think.
yes, but the part that made me laugh was the phrase "fatal homicide". as if there's a non-fatal version.
I get it, I promise.
"In one edition of today's Food Section, an inaccurate number of jalapeno peppers was given for Jeanette Crowley's Southwestern chicken salad recipe. The recipe should call for two, not 21, jalapeno peppers."
