Cashed Out

50cent03So what does 50 Cent know that we don't know?

The rapper pulls out of the July 2 Live 8 benefit in Philadelphia because of a scheduling problem. He worried about the trash and parking?

He's shooting his autobiography, Get Rich or Die Tryin' in Toronto that Saturday and can't fly in for a little show to boost African aid. That is an hour and 35 minute plane ride, commercial, and you know a private jet could make even more time.

He's afraid of battling the Kaiser Chiefs? Not the nine-times-been-shot rapper. Does he think the rest of the bill is flatter than last night's Cristal? What does he know?

Guess filming's running behind schedule because he's been flogging his new video game: 50 Cent: Bulletproof?

No brotherly love.

On a Philly Future post, Matt of The Tattered Coat, gives 50 cent his due:

Get Rich or Die Tryin'

we know where 50's priorities are...

More acts were announced today. Russell Simmons is involved.

Tone Loc will be in town "'80s rapper Tone Loc,blahblahblah, plays his first area show in years June 24 at Reeds Blue Bell (Rt. 202 & Rt. 73) . Loc is also an actor blahblahblah. Doors open at 7 p.m. $10 cover" (not an exact quote) He should fill in. I'm definitely hitting that one up, I go there once in a while anyway with some friends.

Apparently they just signed Destiny's Child and Linkin Park. I remember my first encounter with Destiny's Child. Game 4, I think, of the 2001 NBA Finals IN PHILLY... One of them wore a Lakers' jersey. They got booed pretty bad :)

I believe. Destiny's Child was going to have bowed out in Barcelona two days ago. And Linkin Park, what can be said about the Grand Funk Railroad of our time?

That's a little bit better, only because, during my most recent bi-annual half hour viewing of MTV, I caught two of those artists on a show, mixing their songs together. Linkin Park and Jay-Z. I have to say it was pretty awesome. I'm not a fan of either, but a fan of both. Whether they do it for that show is another matter, one that I'm not willing to gamble on :) I'll be out of town anyway...

London gets a Pink Floyd reunion and Philly gets Linkin Park. Raw deal! Give me a Van Halen reunion with Diamond Dave and Radiohead and I'm a happy man.
