Gov. Corbett makes 'March Badness' Championship

Tom Corbett's in the championship!

Although Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett was seeded 9th in Progress Now's "March Badness," a rogue's den of conservatives, he has miraculously advanced to Monday's championship.

In doing so, Corbett has bested the likes of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Minnesta Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, no slouches on the court of outrageous opinion.

The liberal group picked "the sixteen most outrageous, radical, out of touch right-wingers who over the past year have proven that, for one reason or another, they belong in this year’s Not-So-Sweet 16."

The governor is in today's championship for this accomplishment: "Corbett defended his party’s attempt to outdo Virginia with an even more outrageous transvaginal ultrasound bill. When he was asked if he thought the bill goes too far to make a woman look at the ultrasound image, Corbett said, "You can’t make anybody watch, okay? Because you just have to close your eyes.”  Corbett didn’t address how a woman can ignore the probe inside her."

He faces Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson, who said "There’s a reason Greenland was called Greenland,” he said. “It was actually green at one point in time. And it’s been, since, it’s a whole lot whiter now.” Progress Now elaborates, "Since entering the Senate, Ron Johnson has unquestionably earned the hashtag #ourdumbsenator. In just two short he’s been caught on tape offering sage advice telling low income women seeking access to affordable birth control to just 'google it,' donning his scientist costume disputing global climate change because Greenland used to be green and sharing a belief that denying health insurance coverage to cancer patients is just fine because 'our nation was based on freedom.' "

Appears Corbett enters the champsionship as an underdog, but he's way ahead in Tweets and Facebook likes. There's still time to vote at
