Once again, some see race as the reason

The wrong explanation for Clayton's tragedy

POSTED: Wednesday, October 24, 2012, 8:19 AM

As if the killing of Autumn Pasquale isn't horrible enough, some anonymous postings on this and other news sites insist that race is the reason for the 12-year-old Clayton, NJ girl's death.

Autumn was white. The two suspects are black. And for some people, this explains why she was strangled.

It's as foolish to judge public opinion by reading comments on websites as it is to judge people by race. So I won't go there.

I will say that in small-town Clayton on Tuesday, I saw blacks and whites united in their grief about the death of a fellow human being. This truth speaks more eloquently than handfuls of hateful words ever could.

The Inky has lost complete jouranlistic integrity. if a black girl was murdered by 2 white boys - you know the liberal hypocrites would be singing a different tune. Where's Rev. Al to protest this one?

Nobody is saying it's because she was white that she was killed....she could have been black and the thugs would have killed her over the bike. The issue is you see this happening alot and the culprits more than likely are black. Yes Whites kill too...but come on wake up...look at the stats there are many more crimes commited by blacks like this than whites.

How does the reporter know the murder wasn't motivated in whole or in part by race? I don't know either and neither does anyone else as yet, but to dismiss it out of hand is irresponsible journalism. The kind practiced every single day both here and at MSNBC.

It's not about race, it's about two thugs with criminal history's that were still running around ,escalating what they had done in the past until the murdered a little girl. It's about the bleeding hearts not wanting to stigmatize criminals ' it might make them bad people' and instead wringing their hands after the fact when the results the rest of us could see coming a mile off go down.

I don't believe this case is about race, but I do agree with the double standard issue. It will be interesting what the Inky will say when these two are sentenced in court. That is when Jesse and Al will show up.

Every white child should be given "the talk" by their parents.

From what I have heard from folks that have been victim to this animalistic family, this is not the first time these boys (the 2 in jail and the eldest brother) have been in trouble for violence and thievery. Every time they've gotten into trouble, the mother hires a lawyer and plays the race card. It won't help them this time. I'll bet that she turned her sons in solely for the reward money. If I were that family, I'd move out of town ASAP. Low lives that don't deserve to breathe the same air I do.

Not knowing anything other than whats available in the media, who believes that these monsters would not have victimized a twelve year old Latin, Asian or African American little girl? My guess is that they are equal-opportunity, murderous cowards who were spawned by family dysfunction and misplaced political correctness.

They must be prosecuted as adult, murderous sociopaths, and incarcerated with bigger, older, stronger equal-minded sociopaths. Everyone needs to stop playing their race cards on this one. Lets save our outrage for the judge and jury if they fail to punish these monsters.

The Black Community is not at fault here. The two teenagers responsible for the death of this little girl is the problem. There were black people from the community out to help find this child just like the white members of the community. The actions of a few can not determine the actions of an entire race.
