Stacey Dash's Romney Problem
"Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future."
With a single tweet, actress Stacey Dash blew up the Twitterverse, igniting a full-on backlash -- so much so that she went on CNN's Piers Morgan show this week to defend her choice of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
Just why would Dash's endorsement be controversial? Is it because she's an actor and Hollywood votes overwhelmingly Democratic, Clint Eastwood notwithstanding? Or is it because she's black, so it's assumed she should have an allegiance to an African American president? Or is it because Dash -- who played Dionne, the materialistic sidekick to Alicia Silverstone's Cher in the 1995 hit, Clueless -- recently quit the VH1 hit Single Ladies and is jobless?
As one tweeter put it: "You're an ‘You’re an unemployed black woman endorsing Mitt Romney. You’re voting against yourself thrice, you poor beautiful idiot."
Clueless, maybe, but certainly no idiot. Truth is, Dash has a constitutional right to express herself -- and her choice -- just like Romney t-shirt wearing teen Samantha Pawlucy does. After all, this is America. We should be encouraging citizens to excercise their freedom of choice, not discouraging it.
And to the haters who disagree, I've got two words for them: "As if!"
Watch Dash, who voted for President Barack Obama in 2008, defend her endorsement of Romney below.
It is hilarious that the right wing numbskulls cannot understand why the vast majority of African Aericans vote Democratic. Could it be because of Nixon's southern strategy where every right wing racist opposed to the civil rights act of 1964 became a Republican? Why should they even consider a Republican given the history of pandering to racists and right wing lunatics since Nixon was elected. Ogey Oglethorpe
AA community - don't front yo - just tell the truth - you are voting for Obama because hes black. c'mon y'all - holla - woot woot woot. for real for real. werd! skiing68
I find her physical beauty outshined only by her inteligence and candor. SocialReject
Just taking one look at Stacey I would assume she is a conservative women. Is it just me or are conservative way better looking than liberal women? They look more wholesome, way cleaner and more well groomed. Am I wrong? phillysgone
The fascists are coming unhinged. We are going to have violence in the streets when Obama loses and much of the responsibility will fall with the liberal media for fanning the flames of racism and class warfare. tr88
Hey stupid the economy is thriving don't believe what the Romney crowd is saying.Romneys stock portfolio is busting thru the seams, he need to fess up that President Obama have been very good for him. How dare you quote MLK as a justification to voting for a man who until recently wouldn't have you as a member of his religion. What a stupid woman standc
thank you for this posting Annette John-Hall! I do not understand the attacks, but I have to ask this question: Martin Luther King's "I had a dream speech" laid out an America that painted a picture that no one honestly thought they could see within a life time. Yet we have a black president who was elected by a solid majority. Is not the nest step to truly on MLK's dream path the right for people to endorse and vote for people based on what they believe? Is this not another step on that path? This young lady says she made the decision because she disagrees with Obama on his record and thinks Romney can do better. She is a successful woman of color, educated, articulate, and independent. Is her decision not the next major step on MLK's path? Is not true equality being judged and judging others on their actions? Disagreeing and still getting along is the true measure of where we are. Dutch-wayne
Hey Stacey I hope you realize that since you QUIT YOUR LAST JOB Mitt will DEFINATELY consider YOU to be amongst the 47 PERCENT. Lol. phillygtown
STACEY DASH = OLD SCHOOL HONEY looking for the ATTENTION she got BACK IN THE DAY. I still love you baby. phillygtown
So, you're assuming that EVERYONE who may criticize her is Black? How do you get off calling somebody else "a group of losers"? And, apinelli...wow! phillyboy88
It really is a Terrible thing to be Black.. You are not expected to have an individuality of thought or conviction. You're supposed to automatically be Democrat, Always vote the black candidate and in a school environment, you're supposed to always speak in bad diction, listen to rap, play basketball and never study or you're a 'Tom'.. Such a miserable group of losers-- always wanting to hold their own people down Ashburn072
I think I will check out Lindsey Lohan's website to see who she's voting for. I'm confused and undecided about the election. Falls Ed
YOUR A FOOL.PRESIDENT CRYBABY IS THE WORST PRESIDENT THIS COUNTEY HAS EVER HAD AND HISTORY WILL PROVE IT. HE IS ONE BIG MISTAKE!! apinelli
ahh yes, the liberal mantra, we are all equal and all of our voices count. . .(except if you disagree with me) 420Phillie
How is this news? Bradley85

This includes the crudes in DC who are suppose to be civilized and educated. Peope within families will be subjected to this also. Let us hope the great Obama doesn't get reelected or all civility as we know it will cease. May god help us. rduexpress
Clueless comes to mind. EP_Represent
Virginia dell...lovely yes, young no. Ms. Dash is 46. This only caused a commotion because she's (part) black, lives in Cali and isn't drinking the Muslim usurper cool aid. MilesLong1
I appreciate Stacey Dash, always have, and it has NOTHING to do with politics. Sewellmatt
Romney speaks to her? Out of which side of his mouth? frobnitz
steadyb, i doubt all of O's supporters know everything as well. Most are probably voting for him because he's (half) black. palmyra21- Okay, then, why did they vote for the many, many WHITE men who came before him? I know, I know--you're just a racist, milquetoast idiot who can't answer the question, but I just wanted to give you a chance to redeem the irredeemable, i.e., yourself.
wb2nd - wb2nd: "why did they vote for the many, many WHITE men".
Because they blindly vote Democratic instead of with an open mind, you low-IQ fool. You're a lowlife troll who calls everyone who disagrees with you a racist. Idiot. Bob1 - palmyra21, you should look up milquetoast HAHA!!!!!

I've always loved stacy Dash, she can support who she wants. But it troubles me that she is choosing a candidate and it doesn't seem as if she actually knows all of the issues and where the candidate stands on them. With her access, I am suprised that she appears to be such a low information voter. I say that because i've been to Mitt's Website and i'ved listen to him speak and he chages direction faster than you can flick a light switch. Have you seen is position on abortion? He is actually on both sides. So a man who will say anything to get elected is a man who can't be trusted. Thats all i'd say to Ms. Dash. steadyb23- And the shame is, there are many millions more like her, and they might just tip the scales in his favor.
wb2nd - The shame of it really is that malignant idiots like you actually have time to troll these boards and globally accuse people of racism. Numbskull. Bob1
Hi,
Stacey has the guts and the conviction to speak her true feelings without fear of being intimidated or threatened. Threats and scare tactics are the usual, typical axpected response from the types who simply can't live with someone else in the world disagreeing which is exactly why the world is in danger from Iran.
By the way, I am definitely not Israeli but Israel has had nuclear bombs since 1954 ( that's 58 years!), and NEVER EVEN ONCE threatened to use it. Iran didn't even finish one bomb and has already threatened three countries with nuclear attacks while Mr. Obama plays with them for almost four years, thus giving them plenty of time to complete their bomb and carry out their threats! So I don't blame Stacey one bit for wanting someone who wishes to protect the United States. Andrew Corsi- Romney is a Middle Class Hater!
- If that's the case, them Obama is the Middle Class Destroyer.
camtheman - A Dash of my sausage for Stacey, perhaps, is the cure for what ails her.
I'd like to poll her. Commentdant_Klink- Well, even though she's a misguided Romney supporter, I get the sense from your postings on these boards, that you are way, way beneath her, and she wouldn't touch you if you were oxygen and she were dying of asphyxiation.
wb2nd
Conservatives have always had a funny definition of freedom of speech: they seem to think that it means they can say whatever they want without fear of anyone responding negatively. Stacey Dash is of course perfectly free to voice her opinion, and vote for whoever she wants, no one is saying otherwise. And everyone else is perfectly free to call her an idiot for it. And she is an idiot. Jacque Strapp- I am curious. Why is it that anyone who disagrees with the left is an idiot or stupid? What do you consider smart? Is someone who simply does as they are told smart? Is it smart to look at each choice and decide what benefits you? Is it smart spend money you do not have? Is it smart to buy a house that you can not afford? Is it smart to bankrupt the country?
Dutch-wayne - Amen! And the funny thing is, if she, as a black woman, tweet her support for President Obama, the same malcontents in this thread who are praising her would be hurling all manner of racial invective her way. Talk about hypocrites.
wb2nd - "Talk about hypocrites." Except that you have no prove of your outlandish claim. Instead, what we have with this case, is another supreme example of the outright hypocrisy and disgusting behavior of the left. The party of supposed tolerance will not hesitate to insult and castigate anyone, they deem straying from the plantation, as Herman Cain put it.
camtheman - You're a moron. The proof can be found in the comments section of any article, in any paper, that even suggests that a black person might support President Obama. Oh, and "prove" is not the word you were looking for. Oops--as a liberal, I guess I have to be tolerant of the imbecilic, too, in which case I probably shouldn't have pointed that out. My bad.
wb2nd
Oh, for Heavens Sake, why does this lovely young woman have to defend her support of Mit Romney! What is wrong with people who dis others if they don't agree with them. Grow up naysayers!! virginia dell
PIERS SHOULD GET THE HELL OUT OF THIS COUNTRY. STACEY GETS IT. THE SOCIALISTS DEMOCRAT PARTYS MAIN GOAL IS TAKE YOUR FREEDOM AND LIBERTY AWAY, AS MUCH AS THEY CAN GET. apinelli- The liberal left tells us how "tolerant, open minded, and diverse" they are... as long as everyone all thinks the same liberal thoughts...
As we white guys say: "Good luck with that. Let me know how it works out." Barack Husein Obama is not everyone's cup of tea, no doubt. dlluxx
As soon as black person voices an opinion contrary to the accepted Democratic Party/NAACP/Rainbow Coalition/Sharpton/Jackson "Thought and Speech Police" they are immediately branded a "TOM" or a race traitor. SEAL76
Stacey, THANKS for standing up for your VOTE! PS, I don't think Stacey has a Romney PROBLEM, I think Stacey has a Romney SOLUTION! JTLavery- Lol, reign it in cowboy....care to share the SOLUTION, or is it a secret?
SoPhilDenizen - Libs don't do that because after 3+ years it's obvious they haven't got one! Failed results are always a secret.
