Stacey Dash's Romney Problem
"Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future."
With a single tweet, actress Stacey Dash blew up the Twitterverse, igniting a full-on backlash -- so much so that she went on CNN's Piers Morgan show this week to defend her choice of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
Just why would Dash's endorsement be controversial? Is it because she's an actor and Hollywood votes overwhelmingly Democratic, Clint Eastwood notwithstanding? Or is it because she's black, so it's assumed she should have an allegiance to an African American president? Or is it because Dash -- who played Dionne, the materialistic sidekick to Alicia Silverstone's Cher in the 1995 hit, Clueless -- recently quit the VH1 hit Single Ladies and is jobless?
As one tweeter put it: "You're an ‘You’re an unemployed black woman endorsing Mitt Romney. You’re voting against yourself thrice, you poor beautiful idiot."
Clueless, maybe, but certainly no idiot. Truth is, Dash has a constitutional right to express herself -- and her choice -- just like Romney t-shirt wearing teen Samantha Pawlucy does. After all, this is America. We should be encouraging citizens to excercise their freedom of choice, not discouraging it.
And to the haters who disagree, I've got two words for them: "As if!"
Watch Dash, who voted for President Barack Obama in 2008, defend her endorsement of Romney below.
If you ever wanted to know how bad the retoric will get wait a couple of weeks more until the election get here and you will see the crude come out of the wall and the hate and the foul language that will come with them. This includes the crudes in DC who are suppose to be civilized and educated. Peope within families will be subjected to this also. Let us hope the great Obama doesn't get reelected or all civility as we know it will cease. May god help us. rduexpress

I think I will check out Lindsey Lohan's website to see who she's voting for. I'm confused and undecided about the election. Falls Ed
It really is a Terrible thing to be Black.. You are not expected to have an individuality of thought or conviction. You're supposed to automatically be Democrat, Always vote the black candidate and in a school environment, you're supposed to always speak in bad diction, listen to rap, play basketball and never study or you're a 'Tom'.. Such a miserable group of losers-- always wanting to hold their own people down Ashburn072
So, you're assuming that EVERYONE who may criticize her is Black? How do you get off calling somebody else "a group of losers"? And, apinelli...wow! phillyboy88

thank you for this posting Annette John-Hall! I do not understand the attacks, but I have to ask this question: Martin Luther King's "I had a dream speech" laid out an America that painted a picture that no one honestly thought they could see within a life time. Yet we have a black president who was elected by a solid majority. Is not the nest step to truly on MLK's dream path the right for people to endorse and vote for people based on what they believe? Is this not another step on that path? This young lady says she made the decision because she disagrees with Obama on his record and thinks Romney can do better. She is a successful woman of color, educated, articulate, and independent. Is her decision not the next major step on MLK's path? Is not true equality being judged and judging others on their actions? Disagreeing and still getting along is the true measure of where we are. Dutch-wayne
Hey stupid the economy is thriving don't believe what the Romney crowd is saying.Romneys stock portfolio is busting thru the seams, he need to fess up that President Obama have been very good for him. How dare you quote MLK as a justification to voting for a man who until recently wouldn't have you as a member of his religion. What a stupid woman standc
The fascists are coming unhinged. We are going to have violence in the streets when Obama loses and much of the responsibility will fall with the liberal media for fanning the flames of racism and class warfare. tr88
Just taking one look at Stacey I would assume she is a conservative women. Is it just me or are conservative way better looking than liberal women? They look more wholesome, way cleaner and more well groomed. Am I wrong? phillysgone
