Has Chick-fil-A changed its ways on gays?

The fast-food chain, which was hailed and assailed in July after its president Dan Cathy pronounced himself a marriage equality foe, plans to opt out of politics, a city alderman and a gay rights organization in Chicago say.

But Chick-fil-A isn't saying much about what Alderman Joe Moreno claims is the company's intention to cease donations to anti-gay groups through its WinShape Foundation.

Like liberal politicos in other cities such as Boston, Moreno had vowed to oppose any Chick-fil-A plan to open a new outlet in his district.

Supporters of the chain held a nationwide eat-in at local Chick-fil-A restaurants on August 1 that reportedly set a company sales record; it was followed two days later by a same-sex kiss-in that drew global media attention.

Seems to me the company, whose food isn't all that bad, is free to support or not support whatever it thinks will enhance its business. But they've lost my business for good.

Seems to me the company, whose food isn't all that bad, is free to support or not support whatever it thinks will enhance its business. But even if Chick-fil-A really has decided to stop writing checks to "ex-gay" organizations, they've lost my business for good.

so do we check on the views of every restaurant or store owner to see if they are PC before we do business or allow them in our district/ just curious how one can refuse to allow a business to open just based on the religious beliefs of their CEO ? I would like to see a Chik Fil A turned down because of this, and then see it taken to court.

Libs will probably force anti gay marriage people to wear purple stars and have purple stars predominately displayed on store fronts just to make it easier to point out "haters". sound familiar?

I have gay family members and friends and I still eat Chick-fil-a I really dont care what they support I like their waffle fries and their spicy chicken sandwhich.

Will the media or the politicians ever come to realize that this is much ado about nothing? This particular article seems like a politician parsing words and declaring "victory" a few weeks before election day, and the media playing along. The company's web site does say that they don't donate to political causes, but that they do support other causes including marriage. I'm pretty sure Dan Cathy isn't losing any sleep over this.

Glad to see that homophobia is being confronted by these politicians. Now that they have started the fight, will they also prohibit musilm business from opening as well?

The Muslim faith strick prohibits gay and lesbian interaction and it is punishable by death in at least five musilm countries. I am sure our politicos will administer this stern reprimand against all who oppose gay lesbian marriage and interaction, right?

PC gone haywire with this one...Chick-Fil-A is a private company and its owners can believe in what they want. They don't discriminate against gays by refusing to serve them. I hope they open one in Chicago, Boston, and other PC cities just out of spite.

Riorden is militant gay rights activist (as is his right) and uses every opportunity to shove his "agenda" down everyone's throat. He works it into every column he can, but doesn't realize that most people don't really care about one's sexual orientation, just stop hammering us with it over and over. Get it out of our faces.
