SEPTA trolley tunnel closing overnight

SEPTA's trolley tunnel in Center City will close overnight for maintenance work.

Trolleys won't operate between 13th and 40th Streets from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Saturday, the transit agency said.

The shutdown affects routes 10, 11, 13, 34 and 36.

Riders can use the Market-Frankford Line at 40th Street to continue their trips to and from Center City.

SEPTA said the shutdown was due to unscheduled maintenance. It comes in advance of the agency's "trolley tunnel blitz," an annual planned 10-day shutdown for repair work in July.
