Uber car service will deliver you a Christmas tree

Folks know Uber best for its easy to use, on-call black car service – it has essentially changed the way people get from one place to another at the touch of a button. For some, it has replaced people’s need for a cab service alltogether.

Now Uber will be delivering you some holiday cheer. The company announced that on Thursday, Dec. 5 they will be facilitating an on demand Christmas tree delivery service to 10 cities in the United States – Philadelphia included. For one day only, Uber is teaming up with the Home Depot to bring live trees to your doorstep with requests being taken from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Thursday only.

The service costs $135, and just like when you order an Uber driver you can split the fare between your family or roomies. The cost includes a 7-8 ft. Noble Fir tree, a stand, and an Uber gift – all “delivered to your front door within minutes.”

The app is available for iPhone, Android, and Blackberry.
