Vick impressive in win

Sunday, September 26, 2010, 7:11 PM
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Miles to go yet, obviously. But Michael Vick gave Andy Reid and the Eagles everything they needed in his first game since being anointed the team's starting quarterback. Against the godawful Jacksonville Jaguars, Vick was persistent and he was good. He stayed in the pocket and... Read more

Reid worried Kolb would be "crucified"

Friday, September 24, 2010, 8:42 AM
Andy Reid has different words for different audiences, which isn't a big deal or a big shock. But he tends to explain things differently to national reporters (who almost 100 percent of the time end up taking his side) than he does to the great unwashed here in Philadelphia. And so it is with Kevin... Read more

The quarterback was Randall Cunningham. The final score was 20-17, a win for the Eagles at the Kingdome... Read more

DETROIT -- Michael Vick won the Eagles a football game. That simple. You can spin this any way you want. Eagles flop in opener

Sunday, September 12, 2010, 7:33 PM
Put it this way: the Eagles could not have written a darker, more wretched start to their 2010 season -- not without a pharmaceutical assist, anyway. Quarterback Kevin Kolb played a bad first half and then suffered a concussion. Middle linebacker Stewart Bradley also suffured a concussion. Fullback... Read more

About this blog
Rich Hofmann arrived at the Daily News in 1980 for a job whose status was officially designated as "full-time, temporary." A senior at Penn at the time, he was hired to fill in on the copy desk during a staff illness. The notion of him covering the Eagles or being a columnist did not exist in anyone's imagination. It was supposed to be six weeks and out, but he never left. It is only one of the reasons why so many people have concerns about him as a potential house guest. Rich has blogged the postseasons of the Flyers and Eagles. E-mail Rich at Reach Rich at
