LANDOVER, Md. -- And so, as they say at the moment the ripcord is being pulled, “Look out beloooooooow.” You would like to think that the Eagles have hit bottom, but there is no reason to believe that is true. That is how bad things have gotten. They just got walloped by a bad Washington... Read more

Eagles' Bowles: 'We've got to finish and win games'

Tuesday, October 16, 2012, 5:28 PM
Wearing a Temple hoodie, new Eagles defensive coordinator Todd Bowles channeled a little bit of Hyman Roth from “The Godfather, Part II” at his introductory press conference. Castillo's firing: stunning and desperate

Tuesday, October 16, 2012, 10:09 AM
First reaction: stunned. I am not surprised that Juan Castillo is not calling the defenses for the Eagles anymore -- and especially not after cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha openly criticized schematic decisions at the end of the Eagles' collapse on Sunday against the Lions. But I figured head coach Andy... Read more
About this blog
Rich Hofmann arrived at the Daily News in 1980 for a job whose status was officially designated as "full-time, temporary." A senior at Penn at the time, he was hired to fill in on the copy desk during a staff illness. The notion of him covering the Eagles or being a columnist did not exist in anyone's imagination. It was supposed to be six weeks and out, but he never left. It is only one of the reasons why so many people have concerns about him as a potential house guest. Rich has blogged the postseasons of the Flyers and Eagles. E-mail Rich at hofmanr@phillynews.com Reach Rich at hofmanr@phillynews.com.
