Not if but if it's too late for this season is the question.

They need to use Foles while they are developing a better O-line. Foles, at least, will get rid of the ball. Vick needs 5 seconds to throw, so they need the best O-line in history for him to be effective.

Why does the media always take something and blow it out of proportions, not just with sports but with all news. Vick is the quarterback and if you need to try and make a name for yourself by making false quarterback controversy so be it, I will not be reading any of your columns any longer because they are all based on opinion. I wish more reporters could talk about the facts like Derrick Gunn or Mike Barkhan do. Ther is no controversy in Philly, Reid has stated that and that should be the end of the story. Why not write about what we need to correct on our line play, play calling and game prep...... or are you not that knowledgeable of the game?????

@kidrocco, because Fat Andy can't be trusted. He said a couple of years ago that Kevin Kubb was his QB then put Vick in as the QB. Mike Vick is in danger! Fat Andy keeps making him throw when Vick is not a dropback passer. How hard is that to figure out?

I'm hoping Vick gets pummeled a bit more before the move is made. I'm hoping he breaks a few more ribs to the extent they stick out of his chest. Revenge of the dogs.

NO, with the garbage o-line that exists, Foles would be cannon fodder......Better that the haters, koolade drinkers and real fans bail on the man behind the schemes, the talent selector, game planner, and play caller AR.....He is the reason that all areas of this club are failing......

Anyone else find it ironic that a former offensive lineman cannot draft and develop offensive lineman?

Why do fans constantly feel a mobile QB is better to have with a suspect O line. It's quite the opposite. Lineman like to know where their QB is...they like a QB that gets rid of the ball as soon as possible. Would you rather pass block for Vick or any other QB in the league ? Rephrase that would you rather block a Defensive end for 3 seconds or try and hold him off for 7.

Nugget: I agree. We have the talent to be a contending FB team. We had a couple of tough injuries to Kelce and Peters. However, good coaches make the great adjustments and move on. Andy and Marty are so predictable in their game planning that all the opposing coaches know exactly what we will do. And, we don't dissapoint. I'm not a Coughlin fan and I don't like the Giants, but he is a smart coach that will figure out ways to beat us. That said, and I hate to predict this: WE will lose Sunday night. Why? We will be out coached and out played and out classed. Just more of the same with AR and MM.

@Justachmuck, So you value animals over human beings? Thats ridiculous. Are you going to break all your bones to avenge for all the chicken, beef and turkey you have eaten? Hypocrite!

A perfect example of the Vick talk in this town is one play to make with 6 seconds left on clock and no timeouts. Ok, you say as you watch them lineup for that play. Just get rid of the ball fast, cant take a sack or run or clock runs out. One read, then throw. Noooooo, let me hold the ball and try to make something else happen. In what world is that McCoys fault, Reids fault? That changed the game and defines Vicks game. Even in a situation that demanded a quick throw he couldnt do it. Stop making excuses for the guy, that is why articles are written and people discuss, its not rocket science.

Vick, Howard, and Bynum! The three guys we Philly fans are pinning our hopes on for 2013!

The Philly-3 elite who are payed enormous amounts of dollars over long periods of time to play what is assumed to be ""winning football , baseball, and basketball".

If I walk in the shoes of our opposition, I can't think of three easier guys to play against than these guys. For Vick you Blitz, For Howard just pitch to him because he can't hit, and for Bynum you double team him and he is sure to lose the ball.

Philly fans are behind the eight-ball because we are rooting for teams with weak foundations.

About this blog
Rich Hofmann arrived at the Daily News in 1980 for a job whose status was officially designated as "full-time, temporary." A senior at Penn at the time, he was hired to fill in on the copy desk during a staff illness. The notion of him covering the Eagles or being a columnist did not exist in anyone's imagination. It was supposed to be six weeks and out, but he never left. It is only one of the reasons why so many people have concerns about him as a potential house guest. Rich has blogged the postseasons of the Flyers and Eagles. E-mail Rich at hofmanr@phillynews.com Reach Rich at hofmanr@phillynews.com.
